Tuesday: What is the correct term?

No picture, because my kitchen is too messy at the moment to find enough space to take one.

Same dinner today as Sunday. I did pick up a petite loaf of sourdough at the bakery, so I had a chunk of that.  Which leads to the post title question: if you rip off a chunk of bread, what is the word for that chunk? "Chunk" of bread sounds lame, and it's not really a slice. Knob? Google seems to like "hunk of bread" better than "chunk of bread," but I don't really like either of them.  It really doesn't like "parliament of bread," so I guess the rooks win that one.
