Wednesday: Spending the day rewriting things.

Ugh.

Carol has a dead clone of Tony, because reasons.

Tuesday: Still sleepy

And I think I might be getting sick?  My tummy's been unhappy all day.

Tonight was the big finale for Crisis on Infinite Earths, and I think they did the best compromise they could:  reduce the multiverse so everybody lives on the same Earth, but keep the multiverse so the movies and non-CW shows and Black Lightning can be their own thing.

Ghost boat.
And I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but I had a quest of "Kill Circe."  Which they let me do by standing on top of a giant ruin and shooting her with arrows.  Kind of a cheap move on my part, but then I wondered if I needed to bring her back to my ship.
Because I had to kill her for my Boat Dude, drinking wine in front of Herodotus.
It turns out you can't swim while carrying a corpse, and they're super slippery, so they're hard to keep on the tiny boat I used to get to her island.
Also, no, obviously you don't need to transport a dead sorceress back to your boat.

Thursday: Sleepy

Staying up late to play video games this week finally caught up.  I've been sleepy all day.

Singularity came back!  Yay!

Monday, December 9, 2019

Monday: Tomorrow I need to math at something to prove that I'm right.

Certainly hope I'm right, I guess.
Finally completed the Celebi questline.

Sunday: I stayed up too late playing video games.

Whoops.
I also got ramen.
And then bought bird eye chilis and pineapple, because I was going to make tacos for dinner, and wanted to make a spicy sweet salsa.  I didn't, because I got lazy.
And Caroll Spinney died, which is super sad.  This is from when I met him, probably close to 15 years ago now.
I watched the rest of my show backlog, which is good, because the new episodes started today.
The new episode of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Monday: Into the Unknown

Today was Frozen 2 day.
It's not as good as the first one, but that's to be expected.  It also wouldn't have been fair to just have Idina Menzel sing for the entire duration.

I'm also not sure I like the fancy food theaters.  It seems a bit much.
I also finished Sandman, after two and a half years of intermittent reading.

Sunday: A nice day off

More games.

More Pokemon.

Shoe shopping.

Seafood.

Sandman.

Wednesday: It seems like the Tuesday-Wednesday shift is from "week just started" to "week nearly over"

It's weird.  Having travel this weekend also messes things up in my head.

But I stood on a medusa head in the game.
And then tried to figure out why this kid was crying, but it's maybe because their mom ran out at me while I was riding my horse, and so in the interest of "let's not leave this lady running around with a javelin while I loot," stabbed her repeatedly.  The good news: that lady was a bad guy, so it's OK.

Friday: Spending a day reworking my work environment.

Because everyone yesterday was bragging about their fancy editors, with all kinds of built in junk.  So I looked into things, and updated how I do things too.

  1. First up: the work cluster only has emacs 23.  This is old.  Building from scratch didn't work, because there are library incompatibilities.  However, you can install it from conda.  Which seems like overkill, but whatever.
  2. This gave me ElDoc mode automatically, which gives argument list help.
  3. And then anaconda-mode, which gives completion, help, and reference/definition jumping.
  4. Also a cool auto insert/remove debugger statement shortcut.
  5. Which led to me adding snippets, particularly one like this, so I could get automatic docstring support on new functions.
  6. And I switched from screen to tmux for things, because tmux cooperates better with the work environment, and gives me easy terminal naming.
    1. But donks up the shift-pgup scrolling.
We'll see how nice this all plays together next week.  It also makes me want to update all my computers so I can use the same neat tricks everywhere.

Then video games.  Mostly the usual stuff.
Standing on statues.

Standing next to statues.
Then, I'm minding my own business stealing stuff, when some jerk face hires an assassin to back-assassinate me.  Me!  So I killed the other assassin, then:
"Oh, look at me, I'm on a different island, I'm SOOOO safe."
Fuck you, jerk.  Like that's going to stop me.
I can swim underwater.

I can swim on top of the water.

I can run on land.

And I can jump into the middle of your camp and stab you in your stupid "out to get me" face.

And then I'm right back to standing on statues.
It's a theme.

Wednesday: At this rate, I'll have all my tickets solved by New Year's.

Even if I do occasionally have to stay an hour late to fix the problem that I made myself.
It also won't stop me from travelling half way across the virtual world to murder some jerk.

Saturday: I'm doing a good job of relaxing on weekends.

Wake up, get clean, go out to get lunch.

Ramen was the stolen suggestion.
Check some news.

See, this is funny because all the superheros on the Flash that have special powers got them from "Dark Matter".
And then video games.
Promises.

My birb.
Another romance checked off.
Not pictured: How much I fucked up someone else's life completing this quest.  Total Oedipus situation.
And then I avoided the story some more and explored the north.

Thursday: A day where everything took way longer than I wanted it to.

So we'll see how much is done by the end of this week.

Accurate.

Sunday, October 6, 2019

Sunday: I woke up earlier. I still didn't really accomplish much today.

Mostly because it was kind of rainy and overcast, so my apartment was extra sleepy.

I didn't actually look at this, either.  Making it extra complicated meant it was less fun.
I did watch Batwoman and Supergirl.  BW had a good start.  SG had everybody being dumb, but at least this time Kara isn't being dumb, so that's an improvement?

Wednesday: Rebase, cleanup, diff, repeat.

But this ticket is nearly done.  Then to make a bunch more, and do something else for a week or so.

Also it was comic book day today, and this was too perfect not to steal.

Wednesday: Three days at home is how long it takes me to go from "yay naps" to "fuck this shit"

I did head out today, mostly to see if cough syrup would help.  Maybe?  I'm hoping tomorrow I wake up and feel all better, because I have things I need to do at work, and those things are hard to do when you keep falling asleep on the couch.

I was able to call into the weekly meeting, although I had to croak out "I can hear you, I just can't speak" when it was my turn for things.

Did I know they sold Topo Chico here?  I didn't get it, because it wasn't on the list.

I like when my comics are political, even when this is an issue that shouldn't be.

Saturday: I don't get many proper weekends this month.

Between returning from a conference last weekend, and going to a different conference next weekend, this is my best one.  So I was lazy and stayed in bed late, finished reading the book I got in Austin (and now I need to decide if I should buy the next one in the series for the next trip [ok, that was a short decision]),
Got breakfast at dinner time.
Then got groceries.  I also bought a "scrapbook" because I decided that with all the prints and art pieces I've been ordering online, it'd be good to have them easily accessible if I want to change the ones I have in frames.

Now to decide if I want to go see Spider-Man tomorrow, or just be lazy at home all day.

Tuesday, May 21, 2019

Tuesday: I should not play hours of Stardew at night.

Because then I wake up late and sleepy.
What?  This seems like a fake statistic, Cisco.

Monday, May 13, 2019

Monday: A last day.

Including delicious bbq.

And Pokemon battles.

And bizarre size differences.

And it's probably not actually a felony to use a cheat code to enter an apartment complex parking lot to play the game.
And, looking back over things, I realize it's been two years since I came up with the scheme to have Julie buy one volume of Sandman, and I'd buy the other.  I read a lot that first year, finishing the first volume quickly (partially due to having read much of it before), and then slowing down in the second despite a good head start.  2018 was just bad for continuing the story, likely due to all the moving and work related things.  It was good to get back to it this evening.  However, it does kind of put the evening into a more somber note after reading ten or so issues.
It doesn't help that the story is kind of spiraling in for the finish I've known about for close to two decades now.
I'll miss the series when it's done, which suggests I should probably start it again.  Or perhaps reread Lucifer, which has much of the same feeling.

Thursday: This weekend is busy.

I was able to get most of the things I wanted to get done done at work today.

Which was good, because I had to ditch out early.
Ok.  Didn't "have to".
It's pretty good, but it's not really a proper movie.  It's the capstone on a decade of movies, so they have to cut it up into bits to show all the threads being tied together.

I want more Carol.  And more Val.  I would like a "Peter Parker is Very Flustered With All the Heroes Around Him, Like Carol, and Val, and Okoye, and Wanda" movie.

And tomorrow I need to get up to drive to the airport.  I still don't have a clear idea of what to do this weekend.

And then next weekend I fly to Texas.

Friday: The thing at work works.

Except there have been API changes that make it not work.  It's hopefully fast and easy to fix, but I'll look at it next week.

Daily gym thing.
I've actually had pretty good luck, and now I think I'm at a point where I don't fill up on items or Pokemon if I don't pay attention.  Maybe I should buy a new pose next.
I needed to get envelopes to mail my taxes, so I bought a new stapler too.  Plus Jersey Mike's, because it's yummy.
I also bought cool looking magnets, but the magnets ripped off the front, so I have a bunch of plastic junk, a bunch of tiny magnets, and one that didn't break.  Ugh.

  • And I need to decide if saving $10 is worth going back to Staples tomorrow.  I can get it from Amazon for slightly more, and I think it's probably a good option.  My current big backpack is falling apart, and with Pre, I no longer need to bother taking out my electronics.  This one looks significantly bigger as well.
  • I support the WGA.
  • Gabby is great.
    • Which is why this makes me so angry.  I didn't like it when they cancelled the old book and made Laura go back to her old name.  This is so out of character for both of them, and I hate it.
