Tuesday: Back home.

I didn't take any pictures, and spent a large part of the evening catching up on youtube/internet/game stuff.

Tomorrow I catch up on work stuff. :-/

Wednesday: Travel

Travel is never lots of fun.
Airport monte cristo isn't great.
How do you remove all flavor from something that's just sugar + salt + fat?
Arrival tacos helped.
This guy's back?
Huh.  What?

Tuesday: Finishing as much as I can before leaving

I'm still planning on doing more stuff this week, but finishing the majority of things was still important.

And then I stayed up way too late playing Assassin's Creed, so I'm going to snooze on the couch instead of proper sleeping (because bed is too comfy for short term snoozes).

This jackass on tv is actually complaining about predictive scheduling? "Unless companies govern every waking moment of their employees, they can't be profitable"?  Go fuck yourself, you soulless pile of garbage.
Anyway, I met an old friend, and we fought in an arena.
She was cool, which could only mean one thing: she ends up dead.
Yep.  There she is in the background.
To be fair, she teamed up with the baddie who killed a kid.  That's at least kid number 3 in this series being murdered to make people angry.  I would like better writing that doesn't rely on fridging characters.

Monday: Nearly finished work things.

Two things into review, sprint notebook largely finished, plan to try and finish other things tomorrow.  Yay.
Plus new art that requires another weird size frame.

Tuesday: Home again.

And I had tacos at the airport.
And got home early, got groceries, got dinner, and then spent too long watching youtube videos in an attempt to get caught up.

Saturday: travel

Waking up early, checking a bag, finding out there are no quick food places past security at IND, flying to O'Hare, dashing across terminals there, getting to the second plane just as they're boarding my group, discovering that they've upgraded me for that flight, having a bad flight lunch, landing, getting my luggage despite everyone crowding around the conveyor, arriving.

Forgetting to take useful pictures.

Raids and gym take overs.

A new bear.

Friday: Last day here

Which means packing, futzing with luggage, and then worrying about my connection time tomorrow.  Forty-five minutes sounds good, until you realize one flight might be late, and that you'll have to go from one end of a terminal to another, and then worry about boarding times.  Ugh.  I guess we'll see, and it looks like there are at least two other later flights tomorrow.  ._.

And lots of people like cooked carrots.

  • I saw this advertised, and wondered what the story was going to be like.  I guess I now know, because the producers didn't think, um, let's check: "that other people spoke languages."

Thursday: Visiting.

There's a big rocking chair on the way home.

Wednesday: Pre-travel anxiety.

Scheduling a live demo of the stuff I've been working on for the last day of work probably wasn't the best strategy either.  At least I have all my clothes packed, and just need to dump electronics into my backpack to be ready.

New splash screen!

New Buddy fun!

Hello, giant buddy!

Wednesday: Travel.

Finally back home.

With airport tacos.
My flight was delayed more than an hour, which meant I got back an hour later than expected.  By that point, my groceries had arrived and joined the packages that had been piling up while I was on vacation.
And our Pokemon was still in the gym?
Weird.  Now to get up tomorrow and go to work and be productive again.

Saturday: Austin

Travel, sushi, board games, groceries, menu planning.

A good first day.

Friday, November 22, 2019

Friday: I probably should have gone to sleep instead of playing video games for six hours.

But that's all in the past, and I have to catch my ride to the airport in like four hours.  Yay being awful at travel!

It's been cold, so I had to switch to long sleeves.

Bull.

Eagle.

Ghost shark.

I didn't understand, so I swam out to the enemy boat, climbed on, and murdered until it sank.

Tuesday: Home again.

Up early for school.

Up again on time to get ready for the airport.

To the airport to get tacos and also to fly home.

Yummy yummy tacos.
Home around my usual work time.  Some failed computer stuff to sort out (I should probably upgrade things this weekend to see if that helps).

Dinner.  Grocery delivery.  Catching back up with missed internet stuff.

I should play more goose game.

Saturday: Travel

With ok airport sushi for breakfast.

And the requisite Pokemon raid.
Dinner was not to be spoken of.

Friday: I can tell it's time for some time off

A bunch of other people are off or will be off, and I didn't feel super motivated at work, and it'll be good to not have to deal with everything for a week.

I did drop of Rhydon to get some easy "soon to be a raid" coins.

Saturday: Flying home, being sick.

Ugh.  We'll see how tomorrow feels.

Breakfast burrito.
 With no cheese? WTF?
Airport pretzel.
It wasn't as good as usual, because it wasn't greasy.

Sunday: Travel. Blech.

Especially travel that starts so early it's yesterday.  The surprising thing was that I was not the only person to book this terrible itinerary, which was reasonably nice.  There were also a half dozen other people who were arriving at the hotel at 10am.  I did get the upgrade for the DEN-TUC leg, which included a better seat and a muffin.

I would have preferred a more mountain-y view, but given that I'm unlikely to be in my room much other than today, I guess it doesn't matter.

And there's a gym, so I could do the "do a raid, any raid, even the raids against ice trash."

I probably could have worked better to get more contrast to show the nice sunset, but there were bugs, and it was hot.

Saturday: Ugh, travel.

Ugh.  Breakfast for late lunch, then "the rest of my uneaten cheese, but sandwiched" just now.  Trash taken out, dishes and laundry done, so almost everything will be clean when I get back in a week.

I think I like evening flights the best.  Those seem to have the minimum of stress.  Early morning is clearly the worst, and "so early I'm leaving today even though it's technically tomorrow" the super worst.

I kind of like the "here are all the Pikachus you never found" event.  Although I now have even more Pikachus I'll never need or use.

Now to play Bloodstained for two hours before putting on travel clothes and waiting for my car.

  • I shouldn't say anything, probably.
  • We all know what to say to things like this.
  • Hotel map, in case I want to look it up.  Online check in puts me in building 3, which I think is where I was last year.

Friday, August 9, 2019

Friday: I probably should have packed.

Instead I was lazy and did nothing.  I did schedule my car for tomorrow at 2:30AM.  I figure it'll take about a half hour to get there, my flight is at 5, so probably boards around 4:30, so that gives me a half hour to get through security and an hour for slack.  Maybe breakfast, if they have anything open.  I need to never schedule an early flight like this again.

Also today was like 90% telecons, which I never want to do again.
Team Rocket isn't very scary.
