Sunday: Wrapping up fun times.

Sunday: Staying home means video games and naps.

I think I'm going to try to do some of my puzzle tomorrow, and take out the trash.

Took this family photo with the wolf I tamed (briefly, before he died) then realized this was some other horse, because mine has wings and purple neon.

Returned to Athens.

Save game timestamps tell me I spent like seven hours playing this game today.

Monday: New Beginnings.

But I'm going home tomorrow.  I've been away for a long time, and it'll be good to be back in my bed, with my couch, and with all my stuff again.  It would really be nice if everyone lived closer together, but that's probably not happening anytime soon.

I did find a shiny Eevee.  Shame it's crappy.

Saturday: Probably too much food.

With lobster bisque and lightly seared ahi after the oysters.  Quite good.

Friday: An ending.

Greek lunch.

 I should find a good Greek place.

Thursday: It seems like forever since I was last at home.

I did get my rework of my Stardew farm mostly done today.  I think this new format is far more efficient.  Being able to use a workbench helps a lot, too.

Wednesday: 2020.

That seems like a made-up fake year.

I'm glad that my book review published last night.  It's a thing that's far too late in coming, but I plan to keep up with: every book I read this year should be listed, along with a rating on the "Dog Rates" scale of 10-15 / 10.  They're all good books.  I'm thinking about adding movies and music, but I don't want to clutter things up too much.

Finally found a prismatic shard and got my galaxy sword.

Which is ground breaking.  I've reorganized my farm based on this information, and it's super efficient now.

Monday: Escape!

Healthy lasagna with spinach and lemon ricotta.

Lemon ricotta is really good here, and probably in similar use-cases.

This sounds like a superhero.

Then escape room, where we solved all the puzzles with only one small hint in the bonus "extra-hard" bit.  Not bad, but we probably could have sorted it out if we had thought clearer about it.

Then planning and shopping and cleaning for NYE.  One side benefit: getting bbq:

Yummy delicious bbq.  The brisket cooled a lot between the store and home, but that isn't really that big of a problem.

• I saw this chair yesterday, and kind of really want one, but with a back.  I 100% prefer to sit in my office chair crosslegged, and this would make that much easier and more comfortable.

Sunday: Hotpot and Puzzles

Central Market lunch.  Plus some initial planning for NYE, as well as for hotpot.

 Then some work-adjacent work.  I hate deciding that refactoring would solve a lot of problems.  Even though it probably will, and will make unit tests easier to write.

And delicious hotpot.  At home.

It's a Bob Ross.

It's made me think about computer vision guided puzzle solvers.  It looks like the first two google results use some sort of edge/shape solver.  My thought was to feed in an image of "pieces" (which would then be segmented) and "goal", with the idea of using cross correlation to identify where each piece should fall on the completed image.  Maybe I'll see about implementing something when I get home.

Friday: Last day here

Which means packing, futzing with luggage, and then worrying about my connection time tomorrow.  Forty-five minutes sounds good, until you realize one flight might be late, and that you'll have to go from one end of a terminal to another, and then worry about boarding times.  Ugh.  I guess we'll see, and it looks like there are at least two other later flights tomorrow.  ._.

And lots of people like cooked carrots.

• I saw this advertised, and wondered what the story was going to be like.  I guess I now know, because the producers didn't think, um, let's check: "that other people spoke languages."

Thursday: Visiting.

Yet again, I leave home, and my main computer shits itself and stops working.  Ugh.  And the power cycle bot is clearly not cycling power correctly.  Ugh..

Maybe I should talk to Pika Claus.

Or, more likely, I'll just buy a new box and replace the one that's not working well.  It probably should have more disk space anyway.

Monday: last day

This has been a reasonably lazy trip, partially because I'm the only one with dedicated time off.  That's worked out well for me, as I think this means I'll be able to go home ready to finish up the outstanding issues, and ready to solve more problems.

Also ready to eat more ramen!

And maybe ready to draw?  Probably not Baby Beasties, however.

Sunday: A birthday.

Probably one of the most relaxing and enjoyable ones in years.  Too much Some meat for lunch:

Then crashing, napping, watching video games and youtube, some dinner, some shopping, more napping.  A very good day.


Tomorrow is back to "work", though, followed by travel on Tuesday.  Then doctor's appointment on Wednesday, along with possibly moving to a new office/desk.  This week will be busy, I guess is the point.

Saturday: Whoops, I stayed up until 4 again.

And I finished my book, with three days left on this trip.  I was fooled by the baddies, I didn't see one plot twist coming, and my anticipated end played out as I feared.

I cannot wait for the next book in the series.  I have so many unresolved questions that I want answers to.

At least now I know the secret backstory that the book has been keeping, and I have a pretty good idea who the good guys are.  Not bad for there only being ~50 pages left.  The fact that the good guys are who I was hoping they'd be isn't bad either.

Detecting the character that was truly a necromantic construct in their first appearance?  That was a combination of careful reading and dumb luck.

I'm also almost done with this jerk, too.
