Sunday: Q30/Easter

Another day inside.
The tree across the way is blooming nicely.
I was able to get a last minute order in this morning, so I got to have a wonderful Bunny Day miracle.
I even got the cake!
I braised lamb, so that'll be the leftover for this week.  ALSO CAKE!
THERE IS FRUIT INSIDE THE CAKE!
Also video games.
So many statues of Persephone.

Including giant crying Persephone.
Everything is super high, so it's easy to kick people off.  I had to come down afterwards to loot this guy.
And then I looked up in the sky.
WTF IS THAT?
No clue.  Let's see if the story explains it.

This bear is relevant for link 1.

Wednesday: I probably shouldn't have tacos for three meals in a row.

But I did.  Oh well.

And I had ice cream in my "Feeling bear" bowl.  I probably should have taken the picture before having the ice cream.

  • W.T.F.
  • No longer an Oceanarium.
  • Huh.  So maybe I'll read this.  It sounds like they're doing a bit of a fix up on Carol's character, after she got stomped on during the cross overs.

Friday: Pandy

Dinner was Cafe Jolie. It was yummy, but I didn't take any pictures. Whoops.

There was some gym stuff, too.
And, since I spent a lot of time with a certain person, I looked up to see if I could find pictures of Pandy the panda.

This is from December 27, 2014, the day after Pandy came home with us.
This is a picture of Pandy from today.

Friday: I spent all day trying to figure out why this program isn't doing the right thing.

Part of the problem is that I'm using some initial guess parameters, with the hope that those would be sufficiently close that I could just tune them afterwards.  It isn't working so far, and after fixing a bunch of bugs and typos, the angle it's putting things at is still wrong (after flipping to correct after the first batch of bugs were fixed).  So it's a next week problem.

"Urus" Maritimus, Microsoft?

  • Wow.  Fuck you, Marvel.  Of course I'm not going to buy single issues, when they're like $4 each, and the trade that collects five or six issues is going to be like $15.  It also sucks when things get cancelled and rebooted all the time.  I mean, look at A-Force.  Plus, that ended when you let some other writer kill off one of their lead characters in a stupid crossover that made everyone involved look dumb.
  • Cities are good.
  • Nazis are dumb, and are apparently shitty at doing their homework.
  • Racists are dumb, too.
  • No, because they're friends.
  • Mimikyu.
  • Don't make those angry ears, cat.  You stuck your own damn paw in his mouth, trying to steal a treat.  You got chomped on a bit, but it's your own fault.
  • Tiaras.
  • Ugh.  Tomorrow.

Monday: No.

Here's an old screenshot I took because the clock in the middle looks like a very sleepy bear.

  • Grumpy kitty.
  • Sad kitty.
  • Jerk dog.
  • Apparently the traffic issues I had last week are part of a known issue.
  • I did not like the Lucifer TV show.  It's the same as all other cop + not cop shows.  There's no explanation about why Lucifer cares about all the humans, or what he gains from that.  Is it just for funsies?  Then what's the point of making it about Lucifer?  It's just so wasteful.
    • Here is an excellent story from the comic.  It is rather nsfw.
    • Here is a reasonably good story from the comic.  It illustrates a number of problems that I suspect will be present in the TV show.  First, Duma and Remiel take up the management of Hell, making a lot of the "no one's running Hell" discussion from TV nonsense.  This suggests they will not appear.  Secondly, what they've done to Mazikeen is hideous.

And, just so I have them available if I need them:

Tuesday: Tomorrow is a holiday.

So I'll need to figure out what I'm doing.  I'm thinking I may just clean my apartment some.

I had cherry drink today for lunch.

What's that Bear?  "こども 文庫 プロジェクト"?  Children's book collection project?  Yes, yes it is.

Wednesday: Seriously, the fucking tropics suck.

All "let's be fucking hot every damn day" and "also super humid. Let's get on that" and "you know what?  Let's have the wind come from the fucking south, bringing even more of all of that!  Wooo!"  Fuck you, the tropics.  Fuck you in your stupid fucking face.

"You can come join us if you want!"
You know what, Friendly Polar Bears, I think I might take you up on that.

  • I didn't read this, but it had a nice title, so I saved it in a tab, and now I'm too hot and lazy to read it and see if it's interesting.
  • Given that cheapest condo currently for sale is listed at $889k, and they're putting in a fucking luxury car dealership at ground level, I think the correct choice for the development authority is "too fucking bad, replace all your damn windows and be compliant."  Fucking jackasses.  "Oh, we're trying to be environmentally friendly, and to do that, we just need to redistribute all the sunlight to everyone else."
  • There is no third link.

Tuesday: Fucking tropics.

Dear Japan, I suspect you are being far to lenient on who you let lead small children into the forest.  I'm just saying maybe "an actual literal bear" isn't the best option.
I understand that the bear is cute.  This does not make it a perfectly fine idea.

This is the burger I wanted to get on Sunday, and then didn't get yesterday because I had my laptop with me.

Wednesday: Too many things.

"No, see, I'm cosplaying.  I'm Pyramid Head, from Silent Hill 2."

Saturday: why don't I have any pictures from today?

We had really tasty Mediterranean food for lunch. I do not see any pictures, which is a shame. Very yummy.
I have this one of Elsa and the panda bear.

And this one of the "seafood party" ramen.

Oh. That's right. The ninety hours of "The Mindy Project" ate up a large chunk of the day.

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Thursday: At least tomorrow's Friday.

I had a 1024 bear at the end, but I had to do a push right, and that screwed up the game around 60k.

Sunday: Wait, where the fucking weekend go?

Oh yeah, I did that stuff yesterday, and then spent all day today doing errands and crap.

"Damn it, cat.  I just asked you a simple question.  You don't have to be a jerk about it!"

Saturday, September 6, 2014

Saturday: And then I successfully did nothing all day long.

Except some stupid work stuff.  Because that's apparently something I have to do on a Saturday.

I plan on getting ramen tomorrow, so that's a plan.  Also working through the DVR stuff.  I cleared three shows today, but those were small things.  I may just tackle the growing mess that is my backlog of Pokemon XY.

"No, look.  You jump down first, see if there are any fish, you tell us, and then we come down afterwards.  It makes more sense than having all three of us jump down if we may just have to climb back up."

Friday: I need to figure out what I'm doing this weekend

It'd be nice to have some sort of plan.

"Just a nice relaxing day out at the lake."

Thursday: Logic and math

Or, more specifically, I think I fixed the last big problem in the stuff at work, and it turns out to be a logic error.  The math is due to the fact that I was going to do some math stuff here, but my test code doesn't quite work due to the fact that I have quantization issues in my images, and I'm too lazy to put in a proper way to handle that.  I think a drizzle like algorithm will do the trick, as I don't need to have insane precision, just enough to smooth out the bumps.

"Damn it, I forgot the burgers!"

  • I think Krugman is misunderstanding the Princeton team's two predictions.  The today number is the current snapshot.  The election day one is a "regression to the mean" one, which attempts to smooth large outliers by assuming things trend to the Gaussian mean of one of the parameters.  Since the news yesterday was not just a random discrepant poll but a systematic change in the Kansas election, there isn't enough time for that shift to be significant in that estimate.
  • Also, this jackass, and his wife, are both going to jail for a long time.
  • I went googling for a recipe that I saw a gif of, and wanted to know what they were doing, but instead, I found this.  I'm calling it a win.
  • Friendly squirrel.
  • Sleepy squirrel.
  • Boom boom boom..

Wednesday: Sick day

Which sucks, but I'm reasonably sure it's just something that I ate seriously disagreeing with me.  However, since the goal of today was going to be "figure out why the last fucking thing in this stupid supercomputer thing keeps donking up," I was able to do a number of tests from home.  The answer?  "No fucking clue."  So that's fun.

"Shit.  I thought I left the keys here!"

Since the asteroid page won't load in my browser, but will on the tablet:
Earth, moon, asteroid.

Tuesday: Ugh. Work. Telecons.

Bears.
"Ok, let's see what the stock market is doing."

I would argue that it should be slightly more rigorous.  You draw the lines the same way, but you clearly label things as "these two lines represent two sets of ten" and "this line represents one set of one".  This way, you explicitly see that you have (3*1)*1 + (3 * 2) * (1 * 10) + (1 * 1) * (10 * 1) + (3 * 1) * (10 * 10).  This also makes it easier to expand this to higher values (you just assign a set of lines to the hundreds place).

Thursday: I probably need to do something other than work and sleep, otherwise, I won't have any images to put up.

I guess I'll have to dip into my stash of funny bear pictures.  I have about a half dozen left.
"The service here sucks."

  • Pandas are sneaky.
  • Hello Kitty is not a cat.
    • Counter-point, summarizing my thoughts on the matter in a format 99 times as long.  Tl;dr: Kitty isn't a cat because she's an anthropomorphic character who formally only exists in some form of media.
  • Ad number three.  What the fuck kind of "club" are you joining that you have to make funeral arrangements for someone?  Did you actually join the mob?  Have you checked recently to see that didn't accidentally join the mob?  You maybe need to check again.
  • Cartoons and comics.

Monday: A bear, some squirrels, and an asshole.

"No, see, I told you.  Everyone was all ripped up and torn to shreds when I got there.  You probably can't see the differences, but I'm pretty sure it was a tiger.  Maybe a lion.  This was definitely one of those 'big cat' kind of a mass mauling.  Couldn't have been a bear.  Not at all."

  • This squirrel is drinking.
  • These jerks need to be tracked down and prosecuted for attacking a squirrel.
  • However, the squirrel itself is probably fine.  Squirrels are tiny, and so their surface area is large relative to their density, so they have a terminal velocity somewhere in the 40mph range, which is apparently something that's not so bad.
  • Do you know Randy Queen?  Well, you've now at least heard of him, and now you also know that he's kind of an asshole.
