Sunday: Katsudon day.

Mostly because it sounded good, and nothing else did.

But it was super good.

Saturday, March 30, 2019

Saturday: It should not be 75 in March.

It's weird.
Also weird: Pokemon designs.
And I went to Target today, and left without buying one of the things on my list.  I guess I'm heading back out tomorrow instead of hiding at home playing video games.  Discovering Nintendo has "lazy cheat mode" for a bunch of old NES games has been a time sink.  Yes, thank you, I would like to play a game I played decades ago, but with end-stage power from the very beginning.

Friday: At least I solved the final major issue.

It...kind of exploded into a bunch of SQL operations, but at least that looks like it works.

I should have taken a secret poptart this morning.

I had to draw this picture to figure out how one thing works.

Gym battle.

I really wanted Tikka Masala for dinner.  I ate until I was super full, and saved the rest for lunch tomorrow.  Or Monday.

Thursday, March 28, 2019

Thursday: I really wish it was Friday.

I guess I just have to be happy that tomorrow is.

PKMN Go has notifications that are kind of nonsense.

Wednesday, March 27, 2019

Wednesday: No, you forgot what day it was today.

At least work things worked.

Yay!

Yay!

Ghost pokemon.
And when I got home, I watched the episode of CCS where she fights the "Little" card, and the strawberry tart gets eaten before Kero can have his piece.
So he has her do the sensible thing and make him small, so he can enjoy the tiny remaining bit.

Now I want a giant strawberry.

Tuesday: UUUUguuguguhhhhh....

Wood turtle.

Fancy penguin.

Monday, March 25, 2019

Monday: I hate mondays.

Everything was broken today, and I spent all day beating it into working, but I'm concerned that this just means that it's going to be newly broken tomorrow.

So I went to get queso for dinner.

The Mexican place on the way home isn't super great, but they make burritos, and they have queso.
The queso is also not super great, and it congealed and was cold by the time I got it home, but it wasn't terrible cold, so I guess I count it as a win?

Sunday, March 24, 2019

Sunday: I was going to sort books today.

I didn't.

Saturday, March 23, 2019

Saturday: A mostly productive day.

I cleaned a bunch of stuff, and finally got rid of a bunch of empty boxes.  Now to figure out if I can fit my remaining books on the available shelf space.
I do not like that it's now hard to add stickers to photos.  I do like that panera lets you remake their sandwiches with whatever you want.

Friday, March 22, 2019

Friday: I have so many things I want to accomplish this weekend.

I'm guessing very few of them will actually get done, but I'm not going to worry about that too much.
I'll just sneak my Gengar in here.

  • Because they're garbage people.  That's why they don't want things to be more democratic.
  • Good to see conservatives everywhere are incompetent.
  • A new Vampire: the Masquerade game?  I was seriously not expecting that.
  • I wanted to play a "stab people with a sword" game last night, and remembered I have Devil May Cry 4.  I'm playing a nice lady who is stabbing people with a bazooka.  It works.  I think she's a special DLC character, because there is zero story in her mode.  Given what I remember about the DMC story, that's just fine with me.

Wednesday, March 20, 2019

Wednesday: I am ready for the weekend.

I spent 90% of today doing reviews.  It's not so much that I hate reviews, it's just that they involve quickly learning all about parts of the project that I've avoided.  So there's a lot of thinking.  Plus I spent the other 10% fixing a bug I introduced.

Then I went to Target, made it out with only extra bagels that weren't on my list, and then discovered that the south Wendy's is trash.  Ugh.

Spiky Sun.

Buff Kitty.

  • Spider-Man.
  • This game is less bad than I initially thought.  It requires a lot of grinding though, so it's more like the original game than the more recent (and better) instances.

Tuesday, March 19, 2019

Tuesday: Making a todo list helped today.

Amazon apparently decided all my suggested stations had to have the same pose.

Monday, March 18, 2019

Monday: Mondays are the worst day.

Just awful.

Sunday, March 17, 2019

Sunday: Today was pretty much all about food.

Going to get food, eating food (picture of pizza here), buying mushrooms and lamb, going home to make food, making food, eating food again,
Shepherd's pie.
deciding the food wasn't as good as it could be, and then draining all the liquid to make it into gravy, because gravy makes all food better, prepping lunch tomorrow with the newly made food, etc.

Saturday, March 16, 2019

Saturday: I hate waking up early on weekends.

But I had to, because the drug company have a guy who has to come and visit and tell me all the stuff I already know.  At least now I have a fake injector pen to play with.  Fun times.

And then after some napping, I got lunch.
And bought groceries, but forgot to buy mushrooms.  So I guess I'm going to go buy mushrooms tomorrow.  Mushrooms are essential.  I did find my steamer, though, so it's good I didn't spend $12 on a new one.

Friday, March 15, 2019

Friday: This weather is bullshit.

There should be a picture here pointing out that tomorrow will be 23 degrees colder than today, and that the high will be 50, but blogger won't let me add images today.

Thursday, March 14, 2019

Thursday: Important lessons.

  1. If the power goes off, all of my wifi light bulbs turn on (or more likely, go to the switch state, not the bulb state).  This means that I woke up this morning at 6am to all my lights on.
  2. I need to get a UPS for my NAS and DMZ node.
  3. I should remember that port 25 is filtered, so I have to use the fetchmail method of getting mail.
Also Team Beto is extra sneaky with their names.

Fire chicken.

Iron Man.

Tuesday, March 12, 2019

Tuesday: I'm less completely asleep than I was yesterday.

But that did require me sleeping in this morning.  Luckily, no one is at work this week.  Or at least there's fewer than usual, so it's not a big deal.

It has nothing to do with me finally getting into Stardew.
I did get the main project done for this week, so tomorrow I can test some more things, and make the code less hacky-make-it-work.

It's always nice finding a nearly empty gym while walking home.
Then I spent an hour putting together bookshelves.  I will get the last boxes of books unpacked.

Monday, March 11, 2019

Monday: DST suck.

Because it donks up my whole regular schedule.

I also discovered I canot win a level 3raid by myself.

Sunday, March 10, 2019

Sunday: Stupid time change.

I blame it for me being tired.  Then I woke up and played Stardew.  Then I got clean and went to get a burger for lunch.
I almost went to Target again, too.
And then came home and did nothing, making today super productive.

  • Tucker Carlson is bad.

Saturday, March 9, 2019

Saturday: She didn't say the thing. :(

New Marvel movie makes it movie day.  The fact that it's Captain Marvel makes it even better.  I'm happy it takes place in the past, so that Carol can be her full-strength hero self in the next Avengers.  Also: I want more movies showing what she's done for the last 25 years.

But I had to get lunch first.  I probably should go to the pho/bahn mi place more than when I go to the movies.

Is the fire chicken really that small?

I now have a Captain Marvel cup, because that's all the old lady was willing to sell me.
It's a good movie.  She didn't say she was the Boss of Space, but the Avengers comes out next month, and she'll be in that, and it's a good introduction to the rest of the team.  "Hey, I'm the Boss of Space.  What's up?  Where's Fury?"
Then I went to Target to buy lunch stuff and a hamper, and left with a new bookshelf and sheets because they were on sale.

Friday, March 8, 2019

Friday: s%(.*)/(.*)%$1 $2%

Which won't work, because the two match patterns are greedy, and will gobble up everything before that point in the string.  This is causing me problems, and it's frustrating to deal with.

There was Drawful tonight, though.

I didn't draw this, but someone stole my user name.

"I married John Wilkes Booth."

Thursday, March 7, 2019

Thursday: I hate good reviews.

Because then I spend all day rethinking things to come up with proper solutions.
Face cheese.

  • The fact that these companies are using the life expectancy decline to pay out larger dividends to shareholders is why many companies should be nationalized.
  • I should read Sarah Gailey's new book.

Wednesday: Ash free

I had to deal with heating/AC stuff this morning, because my not-actually under me downstairs neighbor complained about my outside unit.  The repair guy couldn't find anything wrong, and it sounded the same as everyone else.  I suspect n-a-u-m-d-n has no idea what he's talking about.

Do any of these guys fit in frame?
And this month is apparently vacation month, which I didn't know about, because if I had, I probably would have thought about vacating.  In any case, I'm hoping to have a bunch of stuff done before people come back to work.
No, I cannot do a Donphan raid alone.
Because of time, which is the crappiest way to not win.

I did finally fix the hole in my glove, partially because it's cold now, and I don't want my hand being mostly warm.
I wasn't sure if I had enough rice for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow, so I decided to make a Japanese sweet potato as well.  They're super common on tv shows as a thing to eat and snack on, where they're eaten fresh off a grill or fire.  So I threw one in the oven to bake, with the idea that I'd try it and see what it needed afterwards.
While cooking leftover bulgogi.
It needs nothing.  It's wonderfully sweet and warm and tasty, and I have two more, one of which needs to go to work tomorrow in my lunch.  Super yummy and super easy.

Tuesday, March 5, 2019

Tuesday: pacski day

I had to go with the next best thing.

A regular DD jelly doughnut.
They're not nearly as good as I remember.  I think part of it is because it had like a teaspoon of jelly in it.  It's basically just enough to make me even more hungry for a pound of pacski.

  • These reorganization things worry me.  I don't want the things I care about to get reorganized out of existence.
  • That is good looking ice cream.

Monday, March 4, 2019

Monday: It snowed.

But only a few inches, and it was all taken care of by morning.  They did delay the start of classes, which means I had a pretty good parking spot today.

Unfortunately I've felt kind of sick all day, which also sucks.

Sunday, March 3, 2019

Sunday: KBBQ and snow.

I woke up late, but that's ok, I had no major plans for the day.  Except to make KBBQ.
It turns out that bulgogi is super easy to make.
I used a non-stick pan, because I had very thin tenderloin, but I think the flank was better for this.  I used the mushrooms to clean up the burnt bulgogi sauce, which made them super tasty as well.  I think next time I do this, I should get some pork belly as well.

And now it's snowing, but work isn't cancelled yet.  I'm still hoping for a day off.

  • I can now close the tab I've had with the recipe in it for months.
  • The thing I was missing, and didn't figure out until after, was a dipping sauce.  I had thought about making ssamjang, but I think I just want the oil and salt sauce that GogiTime had.
  • Pokemon food.
  • Snow.

Saturday, March 2, 2019

Saturday: This is actually really easy to make.

First I needed to get lunch.
Ramen with Pichu.
Then a stop next door at the K-grocery, and now I have things to make bulgogi tomorrow.  I got two types of meat (tenderloin and flank), and the remaining ingredients for this version.  If I had a food processor, this would have been a five minute recipe for the marinade.  In any case, the meat is in the fridge ready for tomorrow.

Friday, March 1, 2019

Friday: It kind of attempted to snow this morning.

Stupid lazy winter.
Elite kitty is so sad when you beat him.
