Wednesday: I don't anticipate a productive next week or so

Not even just because of the global virus pandemic.  Which is a weird thing to type out.  Just due to all the extra things at work that will be clogging up time.

Unless everything gets cancelled and we all have to work from home.

A decade ago I was in Hilo.

Saturday: The most laziest of days.

Today was the Rooster Teeth charity stream, which I wanted to watch.  I also needed food, though, which caused problems.  Eventually I decided to have lunch delivered (which is super lazy) and then to have groceries delivered as well (also super lazy).  One nice side effect of this is that I haven't had to leave my apartment today.

I did get dishes and trash and laundry done, so it's not been a completely lazy day.  It was also cold out, so that's a good excuse too.
Not this cold, though.

Wednesday: Half way to the weekend.

From Diamond Head, from a decade ago.
That seems fake.

Tuesday: At this rate, I'll have zero things to do at work by the end of the week.

Given that there have been like two people in the office this week, I've had a lot of time to test and fix things.  Maybe if things go well tomorrow, I'll take Thursday as a science day.

An old squirrel picture.
One of the neighborhood squirrels likes to hide on car wheels.  I've seen it three times, once when it dashed away from my car.

Oh also, Tetris:

Invictus is now easier?

And I probably need to send in my joycon to be repaired, because it's frustrating to almost sell my pickaxe every day in Stardew.

Monday: I have some allergic thing going on with my eye.

It sucks, and always feels dry and itchy.
Fifteen years ago: Toronto.  Today: too tired to fight rotation issues.
And no links for today.  Because I stayed up late playing Stardew again.

Friday: I almost got a thing to work today.

Which would have been nice, as that would have been like 1/5 of the project scheduled to last until December.  Monday, maybe.

Yellowstone.

Friday: Ugh.

I think this week felt harder because I didn't bring coffee every day.  Plus parking was worse.  And no one was in.

I did finish "To Be Taught, If Fortunate," which is another wonderful book by Becky Chambers.  I hope there isn't a very long wait until the next one.  Although I think I have two more preordered books arriving next week.

I went to the museum a few years ago.

Friday: I finally went to work.

I'm still not 100%, and my ears are still clogged, but I had to get out to a new environment.  Plus, I needed to do some shopping, as I was out of ibuprofen and kleenex.  I answered emails, and did travel expenses for my three conferences, and did some minor work.

This is a busy travel time for me, based on my historical photos.

Tuesday: I am over being sick now.

It's be nice to be able to get up and go to work tomorrow without feeling awful.  I'd also like to not have to sleep all day.  Let's try harder to get better, immune system.

Ducks.

Thursday: Five years ago, my flight was cancelled, and there was a hurricane.

Security closed.

Tuesday: Ok, solved two other issues. I guess this means I should do the main thing for work tomorrow.

The first was a dumb config error in the spectrum code.  Now it works as intended, and I only had to fight it for like two hours.

The second was stuff I can probably put a PR for at some point into a public library.  I also think that it probably covers most of the stuff I will need for the presentation this Friday.  Which I should probably think more about.

Thursday: I figured out a bunch of stuff, but I have to leave work early tomorrow.

Stupid pharmaceutical companies and their stupid stuff.

I'm reasonably sure the ones on the left are nadeshiko.

Sunday: This is a short week.

So I guess I can't complain about having to go to work tomorrow.
Squirrel from a year ago.

Friday: A year ago, I was in Reno.

It was pretty crappy.

Wednesday: Every place should take credit cards

I mean, it's 2019.  It's literally just a USB device and an internet connection.  The Girl Scouts take credit cards for cookies.  I guess I have to find a replacement place.

Five year ago turtles.

Friday: Working from home wasn't super productive.

Mostly because I have a pile of things to keep straight in my head, and it's easier to do that with my double monitors at the office.  However, they were repainting the office today, so it was either this, or die from the fumes.

I also did the lazy thing and had groceries delivered.  Then I did the extra lazy thing of going out to get dinner instead of eating anything I had at home, or had just bought.  To be fair, I needed a new battery for my PKMN Go+, which died when I sent it through the washing machine.  It turns out that this time it didn't die completely, but did need a new battery.

It feels weird that it was only a year ago that I was having my last Monte Cristo.
Even weirder that I was in Alameda again two years ago.

Sunday: I was super lazy today, and did basically nothing.

I did catch up on Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow, so I was able to watch the season finale of SG on time.

Now I want pineapple fanta.

Tuesday, April 30, 2019

Tuesday: Now I want doughnuts.

Big fancy doughnuts like this.

Thursday: I hate good reviews.

Because then I spend all day rethinking things to come up with proper solutions.
Face cheese.

  • The fact that these companies are using the life expectancy decline to pay out larger dividends to shareholders is why many companies should be nationalized.
  • I should read Sarah Gailey's new book.
