Wednesday: I was tired and lazy, and just wanted pizza.

So I got one.
I hope I feel better tomorrow.  I spent a large chunk of today itchy with some kind of allergic reaction or something.  Meh.

Wednesday: 2020.

That seems like a made-up fake year.

I'm glad that my book review published last night.  It's a thing that's far too late in coming, but I plan to keep up with: every book I read this year should be listed, along with a rating on the "Dog Rates" scale of 10-15 / 10.  They're all good books.  I'm thinking about adding movies and music, but I don't want to clutter things up too much.

 Also video games?
Finally found a prismatic shard and got my galaxy sword.

Visited Caroline's weird tea world.

It this part of the same thing?
 I don't remember.
Married Abigail.
It's possible I rate romance interests based on proximity.
Discovered that auto-grabbers auto-grab things in coops.
Which is ground breaking.  I've reorganized my farm based on this information, and it's super efficient now.

Anyway, a new year:

Started with New Year Tacos.
 Delicious.
New Year Raid.
Green.
New Years New Restaurant Dinner.
 Tasty.
New Year Escape Room Box.
Mysterious.

Sunday: I think I might actually not feel sick tomorrow.

Everything has faded into a weak ear ache and a small sore throat.
Yeah.  I've been sick.  You don't have to rub it in, Android.

I think it was today's ramen that helped heal me.  Or something boring like "time".

Tuesday: "it’s not a special forces attack paras."

Second day of the conference, but the first with real sessions.  Plenaries, a session about the educational outreach (which I should probably sent suggestions and code pointers for), one on how we're going to handle calibration products (sanely), and one about calibration (which had no chairs).

Then there was the "banquet", which I ditched out of early because it was hot, loud, and full of people.

I saw a lizard as I was leaving.
I then took a quick nap, and then looked into how hard it would be to code up some simple cuts and cleaning for PS1DR2 data.
Turns out, pretty easy.
I didn't implement a background source removal, but that's not super-too-hard to do (generate likely contamination probabilities by comparing source counts per sky area per plot area, and then selectively show sources depending on that probability).  Also, white dwarfs are more orders of magnitude fainter than I remembered.

Saturday: last day

And then back home tomorrow.  Also tertia victory.

Tuesday: Back to work.

This wasn't the actual picture I wanted today, but the one I did want is boring, so I took a picture of this instead.

  • Fuck this piece of shit.
  • Yeah.  Just because everyone associated with that group turns out to be racist, doesn't mean the whole group is.  The fact that they don't kick people out until they publicly say racist stuff suggests it strongly, though.
  • I didn't know about these online library things.

Wednesday: I feel like I'm close on this bug issue.

Even taking a half time vacation feels like it's a good thing.

It sounds like live stickers may be a thing of the past.  :(

e.
Corn in ramen seems obvious in hindsight.  Butter in ramen?  I'm dumb for not thinking of that ages ago.
  • Huh.  I clearly need to do more research into this topic.  I thought things were better.
  • That's unfortunate.  That was my default "I need to get some groceries on the way home" stor

Saturday, April 20, 2019

Saturday: It turns out that the cheese selection at the Korean grocery isn't that great.

Pancakes, because they sounded good when I got up this morning.

And the trees are blooming!
Yay!

Sunday: Stupid time change.

I blame it for me being tired.  Then I woke up and played Stardew.  Then I got clean and went to get a burger for lunch.
I almost went to Target again, too.
And then came home and did nothing, making today super productive.

  • Tucker Carlson is bad.

Saturday: She didn't say the thing. :(

New Marvel movie makes it movie day.  The fact that it's Captain Marvel makes it even better.  I'm happy it takes place in the past, so that Carol can be her full-strength hero self in the next Avengers.  Also: I want more movies showing what she's done for the last 25 years.

But I had to get lunch first.  I probably should go to the pho/bahn mi place more than when I go to the movies.

Is the fire chicken really that small?

I now have a Captain Marvel cup, because that's all the old lady was willing to sell me.
It's a good movie.  She didn't say she was the Boss of Space, but the Avengers comes out next month, and she'll be in that, and it's a good introduction to the rest of the team.  "Hey, I'm the Boss of Space.  What's up?  Where's Fury?"
Then I went to Target to buy lunch stuff and a hamper, and left with a new bookshelf and sheets because they were on sale.

Sunday: KBBQ and snow.

I woke up late, but that's ok, I had no major plans for the day.  Except to make KBBQ.
It turns out that bulgogi is super easy to make.
I used a non-stick pan, because I had very thin tenderloin, but I think the flank was better for this.  I used the mushrooms to clean up the burnt bulgogi sauce, which made them super tasty as well.  I think next time I do this, I should get some pork belly as well.

And now it's snowing, but work isn't cancelled yet.  I'm still hoping for a day off.

  • I can now close the tab I've had with the recipe in it for months.
  • The thing I was missing, and didn't figure out until after, was a dipping sauce.  I had thought about making ssamjang, but I think I just want the oil and salt sauce that GogiTime had.
  • Pokemon food.
  • Snow.

Saturday, March 2, 2019

Saturday: This is actually really easy to make.

First I needed to get lunch.
Ramen with Pichu.
Then a stop next door at the K-grocery, and now I have things to make bulgogi tomorrow.  I got two types of meat (tenderloin and flank), and the remaining ingredients for this version.  If I had a food processor, this would have been a five minute recipe for the marinade.  In any case, the meat is in the fridge ready for tomorrow.

Sunday: My goal for today was to swap roombas at work and home, and make tacos.

I did both of these, so even though I didn't get up until late, it all worked out ok.

I also took down the gym by work.

And I was hungry when I was coming home, so I stopped to get Panera.

Which didn't stop me from making tacos.
I even finished Donut County, which is a bit sad.  I want more easy and funny puzzle games.

Saturday: I needed to go to Target today.

Well, not really needed.  I had a few things I wanted, and Target is always a fun place to visit.

Then Stardew.

Then I made dona:
It's garlicky and spicy.
I don't have a blender, so I thought about it, and realized that if this was made before like 1950, then it had to be made with something other than a blender.  The most obvious option was a mortar and pestle, which I conveniently have.  I probably could have made it smoother than I did, but I was lazy, and didn't want to bother.  It tastes good, and that's the important thing.

Saturday, February 9, 2019

Saturday: And then Target didn't even have the thing I wanted to get there.

Plus I have to be home tomorrow afternoon to meet my landlord, which means I can't

  1. be asleep
  2. do things as part of a lunch plan.
Tomorrow's plan involves swapping my at-home roomba and my at-office roomba, which isn't actually difficult, but I kind of don't want to spend a lot of time at work on a not-work day.

Since I was going to that Target anyway, I figured I should do Firehouse for lunch.

A good chunk of the afternoon was spent playing Stardew.  It's educational.

Wednesday, February 6, 2019

Wednesday: I spent the day deciphering something that was designed and written completely opposite to how I would have done it.

And how I'm used to seeing similar things done in the past.  Just a whole bunch of "huh, what, how?" all day long.

And then I donked up by trying a different Target, and they didn't have what I was looking for, and it was rainy and I forgot my umbrella.

I did learn that pineapple Hi-Chew are available in places that aren't named Hawaii.

  • Tulsi always came off as somewhat wrong.  I would totally have voted for her (she was district 2), but it would not be anywhere near as easy as voting for Colleen, Mazie, Mark, or Brian.
  • This is sad to hear.
  • The source of that Spider-Man comic I've posted at least twice.

Wednesday, January 30, 2019

Wednesday: Super sleepy.

I think it's just me crashing after having coffee today, and then eating dinner late.

It was the first snowy day I've seen in years.

Saturday, January 26, 2019

Saturday: I had a plan for today.

Get ramen.
I went with katsudon instead.
Get pork belly so I can cook dinner tomorrow.

Build the bookshelf I bought last week.

Tomorrow, I want to move the bookshelf to where it needs to go, and then unpack more books.  Also: cook pork belly.

I guess this is a piggy weekend.

Friday, January 25, 2019

Friday: Getting everything done on time is cool.

This week has been weirdly productive.  It's just not a normal feeling.
Neither is catching a shiny on the first throw after a simple raid right next to work with a bunch of other people who make it super easy.

Tuesday, January 22, 2019

Tuesday: Back to work.

And it was cold.  And I had a bunch of work stuff to do.  And some of that work stuff was just being a jerk all day until I finally tracked down the issue.  And I kind of with I solved math problems more formally than "I'm pretty sure it's doing this, and so I think your fitting code is essentially fitting 'linear' segments to the curve, with the slope of each linear segment equal to the maximum gradient of the fitting curve, which you can calculate by setting the second derivative equal to zero."

I ordered Indian take out for dinner, because I really wanted Masala Wok, but that isn't an option, but at least I have lunch for tomorrow.
