Monday: Fuck you, Puff Pastry


I decided to cheat and pick up some puff pastry to do the crust to turn my stew into a pie.  Unfortunately, despite par baking the bottom and side crusts, and sealing the top down, I ended up with this.  None of the puff pastry really cooked fully, leaving the weird metallic taste due to the fake-butter fats in freezer puff pastry.  I ended up just kicking it to the side and eating the tasty guts.  I think I'll just stick with that and do something else with the puff pastry (maybe just slice and bake and then sprinkle with cinnamon and powdered sugar).

Also: asparagus!
