"Wait, I know that song," I told myself.
"Wait, why do I know this?" I asked.
Because I made a mix-cd fifteen+ years ago that had that as track number 9. ls -alrt * says:

Earlier than that. That's the rip of the mix-cd. To be honest, a lot of those aren't terrible songs. They have a good beat, and when you're making a mix for your diskman so you can get to class on time, that's really the best trait to have.
Basically, when you haven't heard a song for more than a decade, hearing it out of the blue is a weird feeling. I suspect this isn't usually a case, as most people don't listen to niche music from a foreign country.
But then, you hear it fresh, and in a much higher resolution than you heard it on that diskman in early 2000, as you were walking to the bus to take you to your classes for your junior year of college.
