- And this is one of Paul Krugman's best, and it explains a lot of this. Today Ben Carson decided he wasn't knowledgeable enough to be a cabinet secretary. He ran for president. He didn't want to be president, the same way I don't think any of the other Republicans wanted to be president. It's just a way to get free promotional time, so you can use your name and mailing list to sell worthless crap to paranoid morons.
