Thursday: sqrt(2)

I can't figure out where it is, but I'm absolutely sure that I'm missing it in this equation.  My evidence is that comparing the ratio of observation to theory yields 1.42106.  However, I can't find the mistake anywhere.  This is really annoying, as I can't really finish the paper if I have this error in it.  This is also from a simulation, and the check with real science data gives a ratio of like 1.0.  So, that makes it even more likely to be just a typo in the simulation somewhere.

Still, I've wasted like three hours today trying to track this down.  I've pulled apart just about everything I could think of, even double checking that I had the Box-Muller transform correct (it was).  Grumble.

Close enough.

• "Stabilized!" "Retards oil separation!" Things...they were different in the past.
• Did everybody see this?  It's this, but over 3/4 of the sky.  Also: our astrometry and photometry are better calibrated than anyone before.
• Squirel haberdashery.  I am dead. It was the cute that did it.
