• Yes, this was on fark, but I like pictures of Earth from space.  Even if it is a result of light pollution.
• This is a long discussion of how classical libertarians are fundamentally wrong.  This quote: "If you voluntarily contract yourself into slavery, it does not follow that you are still free." largely sums it up if you don't care to read it.
• Remember this next time someone tells you how wonderful a 20% flat tax would be.  Look up everyone making less than the 60th percentile, then print out the chart and use it to choke their dumb ass, because anyone who wants a flat tax is probably beyond the realm of reason.

• Ross Douthat: Still a fucking idiot.  After clearly establishing that Republicans have painted themselves into a corner on health care, he brings up Paul Ryan as being "serious."  Paul Ryan's plan is to dismantle Medicare and give vouchers to people that, by their very construction, would not allow them to buy the same quality of care they had under Medicare.  This means that the only "serious plan" Douthat sees is based on the foundations of 1) decreased quality of care, 2) increased private sector profits (the recipients of those vouchers), and 3) larger out-of-pocket costs for patients.  Christ, what an asshole.
