This should be pretty easy to calculate, so that's nice. My only concern is that it breaks down as the fraction of outliers goes above 0.5. Then the K_mean is hard to select, and you start weighting the components equally. I guess that's the right way to do it, as when you have no clue about the answer, you should gradually return to a regular weighted mean.
Anyway, math.

- Dear Hollywood, I'm like the only person in the world who was at least willing to give the first Silent Hill movie a "not bad; got the atmosphere right in most places." So, obviously, you're releasing the second one in 3D. It's like you have a pile of money, and just setting it on fire is too easy.
- I'm beginning to suspect that Mitt Romney is either an absolute moron, or doesn't really want to be president, but somehow feels obligated to try. That's pretty much the only explanation for this shit.
- Carnies are scum.
- All of these values are basically 1.8432x the real solution (the 15% case is harder because one penny either way has a larger effect). I have no explanation why this number would be chosen.
- The reply to that stupid NYT story about teaching math to students that I would have written if I hadn't been lazy about writing rants no one would bother reading.
