Monday: I had intended to do some pre-packing today for vacation. That did not happen.

I think before bed, I'll drag out my suitcase, dump all my Hawaii goods into it, and then pile up a sufficient quantity of socks in it.  That should certainly count for something.

I also need to copy over the data sample I need from work.  I have a vague plan to play with the FFT code I've been too busy to work on while on vacation.  "But it's vacation, you should be doing not work related things!"  Yes, but you have no clue how much fun playing with FFT stuff is.  Basically, you take the image, come up with a Fourier space filter, apply it, and see what it does to the reverse transformed image.  There are specific goals in mind, so it's not just random futzing.  The only issue is, I need a decent sample of data to play with, so I can check that filter algorithm X looks great on all of them.

Here are two Batman: The Animated Series comic pages that I've shamelessly stolen from someplace.  Batgirl needs to change to fight crime, but there are too many people around.

I'm leaving this one small as it's marginally not safe for work.

Update from the frontlines of Operation: Suitcase: I haven't traveled since AAS, so my suitcase is full of AAS crap.  The good news of that, though, is that I still have the Paperback Book I didn't finish on that trip, so I can pick it right up where I left off.  It's either Livy or Tacitus, so you know, vacation reading.

  • Secret book porn.  Not, well, ok, it's kind of that kind of "book porn."  But also the other kind.  But it's also like 400 years old, so that kind of makes it N-NSFW.
  • This is the best thing I've heard yet.
  • I'm pretty sure that's not right.
  • Math jokes are best jokes.
  • Last three panels.  No, you don't need to know what's going on, just go read the last three panels, and understand that Lottie is one of the greatest characters ever created in the history of ever.
  • I'm watching this story, Yale.  If I ever find out that you did something to the squirrels, you will regret it.  In a bloody death covered in the bushy tails of a billion tiny sinusoidal leaps.
