Thursday: Did you know that you can write too much stuff to stderr?

Somewhere in the chain of supercomputer code->tcsh->python->tcsh->program there's a buffer for stderr that is X long.  If you exceed that, it just stops accepting data.  Why?  Because someone's an ass who couldn't be bothered to flush that buffer correctly.

I just noticed this evening that the new tower they're building in Kakaako is visible from my apartment.  Compare here.
