Tuesday: Just choose a notation, stick with it, and then just write the damn covariance out.
Otherwise I have to read through nine papers with nine notations, all of which are mutually conflicting in symbol usage. Only two (or three?) of those actually discuss the covariance at all. The rest are like, "well, we gave you a solution to the problem. Isn't that good enough? You want limits on how accurate that solution is? Picky!"
