Friday: At least it's the weekend

So I can ignore outstanding work issues and badly named things until Monday.

And think about delicious pho.
And how much I totally love, but totally forget about, cheeseballs.

Wednesday: Travel

Travel is never lots of fun.
Airport monte cristo isn't great.
How do you remove all flavor from something that's just sugar + salt + fat?
Arrival tacos helped.
This guy's back?
Huh.  What?

Tuesday: Finishing as much as I can before leaving

I'm still planning on doing more stuff this week, but finishing the majority of things was still important.

And then I stayed up way too late playing Assassin's Creed, so I'm going to snooze on the couch instead of proper sleeping (because bed is too comfy for short term snoozes).

This jackass on tv is actually complaining about predictive scheduling? "Unless companies govern every waking moment of their employees, they can't be profitable"?  Go fuck yourself, you soulless pile of garbage.
Anyway, I met an old friend, and we fought in an arena.
She was cool, which could only mean one thing: she ends up dead.
Yep.  There she is in the background.
To be fair, she teamed up with the baddie who killed a kid.  That's at least kid number 3 in this series being murdered to make people angry.  I would like better writing that doesn't rely on fridging characters.
Sobek joins the "gods you can stand on."

Monday: Nearly finished work things.

Two things into review, sprint notebook largely finished, plan to try and finish other things tomorrow.  Yay.
Plus new art that requires another weird size frame.

Sunday: D&D try 2

This one worked out better, there was more cohesion with the group, and my character worked largely as I had wanted.

And then I was followed around by a bunch of cats:

And this floating guy.

Saturday: Mostly spent playing video games.

I did take out the trash, so that's good.

And got pancakes because they sounded good.
And I had groceries delivered.  It's not like I spent the entire day playing video games.
But I did find a levitating guy.
And killed the lady who was imprisoning children.
Because only monsters think it's ok to imprison kids.
But her body disappeared when I took it back to the girl who said she would "feed the body parts to crocodiles".  She also "pretended she didn't know me" when I dumped the body on the floor.

Had a meteor crash.

Which led to a weird-ass sequence.

Friday: So many things to do this weekend.

And I spent a large chunk of today fighting typos and code that takes 30 minutes to run.

Thursday: Ancient writing. From the Old Kingdom.

Less productive.  Ugh.
I think I've done all the pyramids now.

It looks rainy?

Wednesday: Even less productive than yesterday

I discovered my "fast" algorithm is also "only about 70% accurate", which means tomorrow I debug that mess.  However, it was nice to realize that all the weird stuff I've found matches the weird stuff other people found too.  So that's nice.  Lots of different support is better than one possibly incorrect due to the aforementioned 70% accurate thing.

I got to the "more weird scifi stuff" part of the game.
I mean.

This isn't historically accurate.
And then I fought a villain, and won, but due to this stupid block:
Right here, in the background behind her corpse.
I wasn't able to put her body with her dead daughter's body in the sci-fi room.  Why is that block there, game?  I could be more pleasant to this lady that I know very little about, and probably don't have enough to be so angry with her that I leave her body in the desert which I guess is what you wanted me to do, isn't it game?
Anyway, the pyramids look cool.
  • I knew Gert wasn't going to be evil, despite what the cover wanted us to believe.
  • Another cliffhanger?  I guess I'll just have to pre-order the third book in the series too.
  • Decans.  How ancient Egyptian constellations were arranged.  The game may not be historically accurate, but that doesn't mean I can't look up accurate details.

Tuesday: Less done than expected.

Mostly because none of the big math/science packages actually agree with each other, so you have to futz with a bunch of stuff.  The good news is I updated the slow algorithm by a factor of about 100.

Being respectful.

That's pretty ominous.

But I guess the lights are just constellations, so I have to come back once I finish the "do the constellations" quest.

  • What?  You need taxes to pay for roads?  WHAT?
  • Duh.  I don't understand why someone who actually has plans for how to do things has to debate with people who are actively avoiding giving details because people won't like them.
  • That's cool.
  • Waria.

Monday: I got more than expected done at work today.

There's some clumsiness, and I've horribly abused things to make it do what I want, but it looks reasonable.  Tomorrow I'll make plots and try to streamline things.

Responsible Wife.

The Jerk Who Never Takes Off That Fucking Bird Mask, I Swear to Fucking God.
Doubly so I guess if it's Horus?

Then I went into the desert to go crazy.
Not real.

Neither are the rain of bugs.
It's an achievement.

Then I found a tomb.

Sunday, February 16, 2020

Sunday: I nearly accomplished some of the things on my to-do list for this weekend.

That should count for something.  It didn't help that my xbox controller died, and then wouldn't work, so I ordered a new one, and then it started working again after I watched TV for a bit.  So that's fun.

I used the boat in the back to shoot a ballista at the guy who was driving the boat with shields on it.  He didn't do so great.

This kid ran up and stood there like I had hired protection while I looted this corpse.

Saturday: Wasted day

Doing nothing.
Except trying the new ramen place.
It's in the plaza with the grocery store that closed, which now has signs up for the new grocery store that's moving in.

The ramen is good, with a different flavor profile than the usual place I go to.  This place isn't technically open yet, but that apparently doesn't mean anything.  If this soft opening is how they do things when they're fully open, I'm going to have to decide which ramen place to go to to get ramen.

And then a few hours putting together more of the puzzle.
Followed by video game stuff.
This is a bit close, lady.

Ok, so this game does have nice views.

Friday: I wish I got a three day weekend this weekend.

I'll have to be happy with just a regular weekend.  I need to take out the trash and make D&D characters.  Important stuff.

Made it Alexandria in my game, and found a statue of Serapis.
Who is not Hades, why would you think he's Hades, what made you think that that could be the case?

Which makes me sad this isn't in that game, because it's just so clunky.
You can't even complete a quest and then immediately turn around and murder your client, because you are the final arbiter of AITA.  Spoilers: a lot of these people ATA.
  • And you can't play as Aya?  I assume Odyssey was made by people who stole the engine, killed all the previous directors/writers/producers, and then made a good game.  Given the in-game modern storyline, this would be very appropriate.
  • I just realized today that the board game Monopoly punishes you if you've mortgaged your properties.
