Friday: I finally turned on my A/C.

It was just too hot this evening.  I could probably go back to open windows tomorrow.

Today was a pizza-for-dinner day.
And I solved a bunch of major issues with the new robospect code, so it now actually fits things when I tell it to.  There's some double-counting issue to sort out, but the majority of functions should be working now.

I just have to merge it all, and then open tickets for the infinity things that need to be done to make it "done."  Still, it's good to know that the main problem to finishing up some of this has been "typos".

Thursday: A year ago movers came.

Things are better this year.
Even though I guess this is only 73% perfect? Whatever.

Wednesday: I never seem to get as much done as I would like to get done.

At least today I helped close out two things, and I think I've discovered the secret hidden bug in another.  I guess if I can get it all done by the weekend, that'll be worthwhile.

How????

We had these clouds today.
And then it rained a whole bunch, and I didn't have an umbrella, and I got wet.  :(

Tuesday: Back to work.

This wasn't the actual picture I wanted today, but the one I did want is boring, so I took a picture of this instead.

  • Fuck this piece of shit.
  • Yeah.  Just because everyone associated with that group turns out to be racist, doesn't mean the whole group is.  The fact that they don't kick people out until they publicly say racist stuff suggests it strongly, though.
  • I didn't know about these online library things.

Memorial Day: No moderation.

I woke up later than I wanted, but was able to put the pork butt into the oven.  That meant that I spent all day waiting as my apartment slowly filled with delicious smells.  That made me hungry all day.

It came out pretty good in the end.
I got confused while wrapping it, and the fatty side ended up on the bottom.  This meant the top (where I pulled the pork for my sandwiches) wasn't as good as I had hoped.  Later, when it had cooled some and I was putting it into a container, I ate some of the fatty bits, and they were super good.
I also made some bbq sauce, but it's not quite as good as I'd hoped.
I also got second place in the Stardew Valley harvest festival thing, which I suspect is the best I could have done.  I then discovered that one of the games is rigged, so I could buy all the cool rewards.

Sunday: The lull in the three-day weekend.

Which means I did as much nothing as I could get away with.  I didn't play as much Stardew as I had planned, so I'll probably need to fix that tomorrow.  I also wish that second switch docks weren't such a scam.  They all are either more than I want to spend or require an additional power cable.
Bahn mi.  I was standing in line when I realized these are mostly pork, I was planning on BLTs for dinner, and I'm cooking pulled pork tomorrow.
I did finally buy a toaster today, because BLTs without toast aren't very good.  Technically, I didn't have any L either, but arugula works.

  • I had a similar thought to a lot of these comments.  I understand she had a broken leg, and I assume that kept her from simply walking makai until she found people.
  • Pokemon Go izakaya.
  • I bought corn, but want something roastier than boiled or oven baked.

Saturday, May 25, 2019

Saturday: I should have checked to see if my bread was any good before ordering groceries.

Because, spoiler: it wasn't.  I guess I'm going to buy bread tomorrow.

Today was ayce sushi place.

I may have ended up with more than I expected.
I'm sure I didn't order three ebi.  Oh well.  This place isn't the best ever (the fish is cut super thin), but the variety is good.
Plus ice cream!
Then I went next door to get some of the apple pop from (I think) Taiwan.
I did not get the croque asses.

  • I really hope all the assholes who didn't care about the election are happy.  I wonder if they think about how many people's lives they've helped ruin.

Friday: I miss three-day weekends.

I'm also not happy that this week they repaved the apartment parking lot, and at the same time forced everyone to get new parking passes.  It's been a big hassle.  I also finally made an eye doctor appointment, so I'll soon get new glasses, probably with better vision.

Only two years late.

And I got this one today in a research thing.

I wanted cheese fries, and remembered that this place I went to a year ago has them.  Also milkshakes, which I couldn't remember why I wanted one.

Thursday, May 23, 2019

Thursday: I stuck to the pattern today.

I guess the new Eeveelutions aren't great?

Wednesday, May 22, 2019

Wednesday: I have to wake up early tomorrow, so I probably can't play Stardew tonight.

It's somewhat cyclic, it seems.  Some days I really want to play it, others I don't really.

This was too cool to battle.

These turned out pretty good.

Tuesday, May 21, 2019

Tuesday: I should not play hours of Stardew at night.

Because then I wake up late and sleepy.
What?  This seems like a fake statistic, Cisco.

Monday, May 20, 2019

Monday: I'm super sleepy.

To the point that I fell asleep on the couch.  Ugh.

Dinosaur guy.

Purple ??? guy.

Sunday, May 19, 2019

Sunday: I was super lazy today, and did basically nothing.

I did catch up on Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow, so I was able to watch the season finale of SG on time.

Now I want pineapple fanta.

Saturday, May 18, 2019

Saturday: An adventure day.

Not a big adventure, though.

Lunch burger.
This seems bigger than it has in the past?  I don't know.  Still good, though.

That's kind of cool.
And then I went to go see Detective Pikachu.  I agree with the Funhaus assessment:  it's not terrible, it's clearly designed for kids, Ryan Reynolds single-handedly carries the entire film himself.  It was worth seeing in the theater, I think.  I also agree that an art book with all of the design work would be wonderful.

Then I went to Target and bought a blender, because I'm lazy.
And I wanted to make dona again.
I added some more oil after taking this picture, which made mine a bit paler, matching the official TacoDeli version more.  It's still good, although I want to wait until tomorrow to make my final decision.  It's sneaky hot, too, which I didn't remember from my previous batch.  It's also far easier to use the blender, making the only "difficult" step being removing the jalepeno skin.  That would probably be easier if I let them cool more.

  • That's pretty awful.
  • If these GoT spoilers are accurate, then I'm ok with it.  I mean, I'm ok either way, since I don't watch or really care about things, but whatever.

Friday, May 17, 2019

Friday: I think two day weeks are the way to go.

Sure nothing would get done, but there'd be so much extra free time.

Thursday, May 16, 2019

Thursday: Back to work.

Tomorrow will be more of the same.  Then I guess I'm going to go see Detective Pikachu this weekend.

Wednesday, May 15, 2019

Wednesday: Not Thursday at all.

I woke up this morning, and quickly decided that being back home was good, and it didn't feel like a work day at all.  So, today turned into an extra vacation day.

Tomorrow will be a work day again.  And then things will be back to normal.

  • What.
  • I thought I had more links, but nope.

Tuesday: Travel

Travel is always crappy.  It's double crappy when you get to the airport and discover the flight is delayed an hour.

And then when that hour delay turns into more than two.

But I got tacos, and even though they all have cilantro, they were all good with a lot of dona.

And the lady waiting next to me had a doggo.
Eventually they let us board, and we eventually took off, and I had a row to myself, so I played Stardew for like 10 days.  It was a good flight in that regard.
Then I took over the gym at the train station.
Then train, car home, and my groceries were waiting for me on the porch.  Unfortunately, it was too late for anyplace to be open so I could get dinner, so it turned into a sandwich day.

I think I'm sleeping in tomorrow, and heading to work for the afternoon meeting.

Monday, May 13, 2019

Monday: A last day.

Including delicious bbq.

And Pokemon battles.

And bizarre size differences.

And it's probably not actually a felony to use a cheat code to enter an apartment complex parking lot to play the game.
And, looking back over things, I realize it's been two years since I came up with the scheme to have Julie buy one volume of Sandman, and I'd buy the other.  I read a lot that first year, finishing the first volume quickly (partially due to having read much of it before), and then slowing down in the second despite a good head start.  2018 was just bad for continuing the story, likely due to all the moving and work related things.  It was good to get back to it this evening.  However, it does kind of put the evening into a more somber note after reading ten or so issues.
It doesn't help that the story is kind of spiraling in for the finish I've known about for close to two decades now.
I'll miss the series when it's done, which suggests I should probably start it again.  Or perhaps reread Lucifer, which has much of the same feeling.

Tab clearing links.

Sunday, May 12, 2019

Sunday: Perhaps waiting until the last day, with a super early morning flight was a bad time to start discussing grown up things.

Oh well.  That's kind of How It Has Always Been.

I should buy a UPS.

Always gym battles.

Painting is kind of fun.
But, like most things, I probably need to accept that things won't always turn out the way I want, and just be happy with how close I can get.
This jerk is in research tasks now?

Who are these people, and why have I not heard of them before?
Anyway, one more day here, then travel, then trying to clean up all the things that I messed up while on vacation.

Saturday, May 11, 2019

Saturday: A good day

Always Pokemon.

Delicious chicharrones tacos.

This game seems like it'd either be way too simple or way too hard, with no in between.

Pandemic Rising Tide is a nice change from the other version.

Friday, May 10, 2019

Friday: Waking up to discover you broke things isn't fun.

To be fair, I tested that it ran fine for me, tested that it ran fine on the test machine, went through review, tested it again afterwards, and it all seemed fine.  I guess there's a mild non-determinism that can cause it all to fail if you don't include things as appropriate.
I did not expect a Johnny Cash mural.
I also did not expect to feel so out-of-place at a proper "grown up party."  I guess never working further than zero miles away from university property kind of skews things.

Thursday, May 9, 2019

Thursday: A lot of "finally"s

Finally got that thing done for work, unblocking all the other things.

Finally unblocked twitter so I can see what kind of randos show up in my feed.

Finally had Shake Shack:
It was good, but I think I probably could have eaten like four of them.

Wednesday, May 8, 2019

Wednesday: I feel like I'm close on this bug issue.

Even taking a half time vacation feels like it's a good thing.

It sounds like live stickers may be a thing of the past.  :(

e.
Corn in ramen seems obvious in hindsight.  Butter in ramen?  I'm dumb for not thinking of that ages ago.
  • Huh.  I clearly need to do more research into this topic.  I thought things were better.
  • That's unfortunate.  That was my default "I need to get some groceries on the way home" stor

Tuesday, May 7, 2019

Tuesday: This has not been the most productive work-vacation.

Which I guess means I should probably focus on the vacation part.
Such as tacos.

Delicious delicious tacos.

And Pokemon.
Of course, now my laptop has decided to be a butt, and isn't charging the battery.  Should I just buy a new one of these, given that this one has lasted two years and cost $200?  $8 / month isn't awful.

Monday, May 6, 2019

Monday: I had to use a dummy link, but I think that solved the problem.

Tomorrow I need to figure out why the tests aren't happy for that, and then do algebra.

A lot of algebra.

I wish everyone automagically used the same notation as what I would have used, if I had done something first.

Gifts:

Seeing if Detective Pikachu is available yet at Mandola's.

Finally just traded to get this jerk.

Clearing out junk Pokemon let me discover I could make one of these.
