Tuesday: Q18/Working from home is killing my productivity.

I think it's partially because I can only have 1-4 sets of tabs open at a time, compared with the 2+ I can have with my work computer functional.  Being able to split and separate tabs into work/not-work groups is really important.

I didn't have a reason to bring this body back to Reda, but that hasn't stopped me in the past.

Monday: Q17/I am bad at waking up on Mondays.

Given that I've had zero pressure to wake up at a decent time for a week, I'm all soft and lazy about alarms.  Which I think means I need to upgrade to a better alarm.

Plus, while setting up my work computer at home, I discovered that the cables don't reach, so I can't set it up in a reasonable location, so I'm stuck with my laptop until a new super long ethernet cable is delivered.

But I got reinforcement groceries, so I have tortilla chips, and can make tacos this week.

DLC title card.
And this is supposed to be the blacksmith, but I think I might have accidentally killed him?

Exploring Nefertiti's tomb.

When suddenly!
 What?
WHAT?
WHAT IS THIS?
ANUBIS PEOPLE?
THERE WERE GIANT SCORPIONS, BUT NO PHOTOS, BECAUSE ALL I COULD THINK WAS "KILL IT WITH FIRE"!
This bit was cool.
And then I fought and killed Nefertiti.
As you do.
So now I'm queen of Egypt?
Except no, because I had to go back to the real world from the afterlife.  Which is a thing I was not expecting to happen in this game.

  • He went to jail.
  • Math.

Sunday: Q16

Animal Crossing:
Ok, that works.

Opened the Museum.

Caught a fish.

Got ranked by some jerk.
Assassin's Creed:
Didn't kill this guy, who's dad I did kill.
Finished the first DLC campaign.

Saturday: Quarantine Day 15

Today I went to the office and got all my computer stuff.  I haven't set it up yet.

I also ordered a pizza, to support my local pizza place.
Groceries arrive tomorrow.

Cat, no!  I'm trying to do murders here!  Your meows are giving me away!

And then I didn't get the memo about walking the rest of the way.

I like these places where you can see the entire map.

And I killed the big bad guy, and then got his throne all dirty.

Friday: Quarantine Day 14

Preliminary draft done, a few comments recieved, done with it until next week.

Tomorrow I need to go to the office and get my computer.  This is going to be a longer thing, and I'm far less productive with just my laptop.

Shame that there are these great deals, but I'm too smart to buy it.

Thursday: Quarantine Day 13

Writing.  A lot of writing.  Ugh, why is writing so very difficult?  At least I'll send the version around tomorrow, and it'll be done for the weekend.

I have avocados to eat.
I did finish the curry, so I probably should make another big dish this weekend.

Wednesday: Quarantine Day 12

With more work telecon fun!  This one went well, except I learned that my "good laptop" has an issue where the camera and microphone only work when opened to angles \( \geq 115 \).  Ugh.

And Aya's Amunet's back.
I also played more AC with my xbox controller, which is really nice.
Yes, thank you, I got donked up by wasps.

I'm spending a lot of fake money on style options.
I see online that everybody is going super fast through the game, collecting bugs and visiting other islands.  I'm just going my own speed, having fun, not stressing out about it.

Tuesday: Quarantine Day 11

Ugh.  I finished half of a kind of project today, and none of the things I wanted to get done.  Maybe tomorrow.

And I decided I needed food I didn't prepare, so I ordered delivery from the hoagie place.
I started the DLC.  This guy had that "I'm going to come back to haunt you" vibe, so I threw his body off a cliff, just so it'll be extra silly if he does.

And it looks like there's more cryptic bullshit coming!

Monday: Quarantine Day 10

Not productive at working, because it feels too much like a weekend.

I am super productive at video games, because it feels too much like a weekend.

I completed all the side quests, like this one, where Bayek hangs out with some kids for a day.
And then the game kind of time skips a bunch, and we end up in Rome.
With Aya.
Who has slightly different controls, so I play slightly off, making me zero percent stealthy.
In any case, Aya stabs Caesar first on the Ides, meaning I should have finished this game more than a week ago.
Also all of Aya's quests are "go do a bunch of stuff."

"Do everything, Aya."
It's sad that they break up in the end, and ridiculous that Aya makes everyone cut off a finger.

Sunday: Quarantine Day 9

Was also D&D day.
I was correct, that tiny colored gems do make the game easier to play, because instead of scribbling numbers and erasing and scribbling some more, you can just toss a green gem representing a spell level into the "used" pile.
I also visited cat city.

And saw Orion

Saturday: A lot of video games.

I found another weird thing today.
Also a lot of telecons.  Why isn't there just a simple plug in hdmi telecon box?

Salsa Doña

It's the end of the world, so why not order jalepenos and make spicy sauce?

Here's my recipe:
  • Like half a pound of jalepenos?
  • Handful of garlic.
  • Olive oil.
  • Salt.

Chop off the stems.

Slice them in half, removing as much rib and seeds as you want to temper the heat.
Throw them under the broiler for like ten minutes.  It's long enough that you don't want to stand in the kitchen waiting, but not enough time that you can really do anything else.
I decided I was done at this point.
You want the blisters, but I think how much beyond that is chef's choice.  These probably could have gone another five minutes or so without any trouble.
Dump all the peppers off the cookie sheet so you can use that for the garlic.  Then peel.
The best trick I've found is to do this in the sink, with the water running.  Pinch the blistered skin, and pull, using the water to prevent the hot peppers from burning your fingers, then use a quick rinse to get all the skin off.
Don't forget about the garlic!  I pulled it here, about halfway through peeling the jalepenos.
Chuck it all in the blender, with a couple of glugs of oil, and salt to taste (probably 2tbs and 1tsp, respectively).
Blend.
 Blend.
Blend.
Check consistency, and maybe add some more oil if it's too thick.  Add some salt if it's not salty enough.  You know, regular things.
Plus this gives you cool two-tone layer effects as you blend some more.
Keep your last jelly jar, and run it through the dishwasher, assuming it's dishwasher safe.  Scoop it all into the jar and put in the fridge, because it's always better after it's sat for a bit.
Dishwasher safe enough!
Realize you just ordered groceries, knowing you were going to make this, and didn't order any tortilla chips.

Friday: Quarantine Day 7

Work, but not successfully productive work.  It doesn't help that the thing I worked on yesterday doesn't work because of a dumb hardcoded decision elsewhere.  I'm tempted to just "fix" that decision.

I did go out into the outside wilds.  It is bad, I do not recommend.  At least I have more soap and candy and medicine.  Also onions and jelly.  Only the essentials.

Also not great that the weather is being so much nonsense.

Thursday: Quarantine Day 6

Last day of our conference, and I actually got some real work done.  Woo.

Plus I took out the trash and recycling while checking the mail.  Tomorrow I get out of the house and go to CVS!  Yay!

I had to not-murder fight someone.  I accidentally kicked a spectator.
The game also took a weird turn with skeleton warriors.

And zombie fire cultists.
And zombie skeleton fire horse archers.
It took me a moment at the end to realize it said "escape" not "fight this infinite onslaught."  It turns out that I probably could have fought an infinite number of them, as they were unable to damage me faster than I could heal.
And then I wandered to the edge of the world.
