Saturday: I felt like steak.

By the ocean.

So this is too much food.  I had leftovers, and I still have leftovers for tomorrow.

They make wasabi doritos now.

Friday: They very much did kill Jesus day.

The thing I hacked together yesterday did work correctly, eventually, after I changed a configuration file to use the incorrect entries that the data has.  One day that will get fixed and things will break again.

I have spent a large fraction of the day watching this.
I went to dinner, and came back to learn that they played Pokemon Snap.  I'll have to catch that tomorrow during the rerun.
Also all my games updated.
I don't know everything that changed in Pokemon.
But I do know that these eggs with legs are creepy.

The parmesan fries are delicious, and I ate way too much.

Thursday: We'll see if it works tomorrow.

A new bakery opened up to replace the bakery that closed last year.  This one is a standard tray-and-tong Japanese style place.
Curry pan.  Not as good as the ones I had in Michigan, but still very good.

Sausage roll.  Also very good.

Ham and cheese calzone.  Not really a calzone, but probably the best of the three.
I'm still disappointed the old place closed, but this works too.

Wednesday: asd;lkfjasdlkf

Yesterday the weather said it was going to return to normal weather.  Today the weather said that we're going to have wind from the south until the end of the weekend.  The south is where the hot lives.

  • Good ideas are good ideas, and conservatives are more concerned about "winning" than good governance.
  • Zari then proceeded to spin Mick around with her wind powers for like an hour.

Tuesday: Why did I wake up at 5AM?

No clue.  I went back to sleep, but it still sucked.
I'm bad about keeping up with the events.

Monday, March 26, 2018

Monday: Prince Kuhio Day

I wanted something meaty.  Also pancakes.

  • This looks like it'd be pretty easy to make.
  • Today's episode was very good, but next week's teaser was "Gorilla Grodd, an giant evil genius gorilla is trying to kill Barack Obama before he becomes president, so the team has to travel back in time to stop him."  I love you, Legends of Tomorrow people.

Sunday, March 25, 2018

Sunday: I woke up too early, took a nap, and then got sushi.

A productive Sunday.

I've been on a ebi fry kick recently.  And I'm looking at the dumplings (which weren't super great), and really wish I had some now (because even not great dumplings are still yummy).

Saturday, March 24, 2018

Saturday: It rained all of yesterday, all night, and all morning.

So I got curry.

Friday, March 23, 2018

Friday: at least there's a three day weekend.

Phone cameras weren't great a decade ago.

Thursday, March 22, 2018

Thursday: It will never stop raining.

It has been raining all day, which is weird, because it almost never rains all day.  Except when there are hurricanes.

A very old picture of a squirrel.

  • This is cool, but I can't really come up with any projects that actually require a cluster right now.
  • Ms Marvel is still one of the best comics, and GWW gets characters far better than other writers.
  • Yeah, I watched it, and it was awful.  "I can make peoples' heads explode! I have to run away from the bad guys instead of just head exploding them all!"  Plus it was all vague "we have to save him!  He's the key to everything!" with no actual explanation.

Wednesday, March 21, 2018

Wednesday: Title.

A decade ago I had unagi.

Tuesday, March 20, 2018

Tuesday: Why are you still here?

Your event is over.  If you're not handing out fish prizes, get out of my camp.

  • Universities are good.
  • I'm not saying that Caity Lotz singlehandedly makes Legends of Tomorrow great, but she definitely helps.  Favorite: her gazing dumbfounded through the window as the reflection of the Waverider is reflected as it's crashing, despite the fact that she clearly told them not to go do time travel shenanigans before going on her date.

Monday: Really?

I googled "Hawaii dollars" to find out more about the overprint notes due to a commercial.  Then I saw the "people also ask," and have to conclude that people are stupid.

  • That's the end of the northern white rhino.
  • Djou still sucks.  You don't sit by for more than a year and then suddenly decide to change parties.  I'm guessing he wants to run for office again.
  • I really like Legends of Tomorrow.  Giving Mick fire powers is a good idea.  I'm not sure bringing Constantine on full time fits that well.  He's reckless and stupid, but in a "I actually know what I'm doing" way.  The team works better when they just bumble into solutions.  Breaking up Sarah and Ava is dumb, and they should fix that.

Sunday, March 18, 2018

Sunday: I was indecisive.

Eventually I decided I wanted a peanut butter burger and truffle fries.
So that's what happened.

Saturday, March 17, 2018

Saturday: The Girl Scouts got me.

Garlic fries are good, but they've been better before.
And then I got some groceries, and the Girl Scouts were set up outside the store.  They didn't have any more thin mints, so I had settle with just samoas.

Friday, March 16, 2018

Friday: Ugh.

It's still stupid humid.

Also, the basketball thing started and I didn't run my analysis.  Maybe I'll do it tomorrow and see how well it does this year.

  • This show is just dragging on and feels extra bad compared to the CW superhero shows.
  • Squirrels.

Thursday, March 15, 2018

Thursday: I continue to hate humidity.

Now there are two events running?

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

Wednesday: I hate humidity.

It's like 100% humidity right now, which means it's another day where the stupid sky just refuses to rain.

I don't know why I took a picture of taro rolls two years ago, but I didn't use it then.  Taro rolls are good.

Tuesday, March 13, 2018

Tuesday: Work from home day.

Which allowed me to start planning for my move and getting quotes.  It takes longer to ship my car than I wanted, but there's not much I can do about that.  I still got the two main processing jobs completed today, so that's good.

I saw a bronze horse thirteen years ago.

Monday, March 12, 2018

Monday: Another week.

Nine years ago, my flowers were coming up.

Sunday, March 11, 2018

Sunday: A plan.

To get pancakes.
It was a success.
But I need to clean more.  And throw out more.  And generally get prepared to move more.

I am about half way finished with Wrinkle in Time.  I have no idea why the reviews are so bad for the movie.  It's basically following the book with only minor changes.  They live in town instead out in the middle of nowhere.  Oprah is big instead of invisible.  Reese Witherspoon turns into a big plant glider instead of a not-centaur (despite the thing on the cover being basically a centaur).  Meg throws a ball at a girl's face instead of tackling a boy.  These are not major changes.

Saturday, March 10, 2018

Saturday: All according to plan.

Julie said last night that A Wrinkle in Time was a good movie, so I set that as the plan for the day.
With a hot dog.
It is good.  I had forgotten most of the story, so I'm going to reread the book to see what's different.  The costumes were fantastic, and even though there's a scene that is pretty clearly "New Zealand + CGI", I thought they did a good job making things feel alien.  It also made me realize that everything needs to be more diverse.  Just all over the place.  There is literally zero reason not to.

And then got sushi.

And caught this jerk.  Finally.
I am finally down to 500 items in my saved RSS thing.  Looking through it, it looks like Thanksgiving is the problem.  I suspect it's because I don't reblog things while on vacation, and then I get hit by Christmas too soon afterwards, and Thanksgiving stuff gets left behind.

Friday, March 9, 2018

Friday: It's still cold.

Eight years ago, I was not taking enough aligned pictures on Mauna Kea.

Thursday, March 8, 2018

Thursday: It's cold.

Like in the 60s cold.

Not pictured is the ambulance that had backed into the first floor.  I had to squeeze past it when I came home.

Wednesday, March 7, 2018

Wednesday: Ugh.

It's annoying trying to debug something when the program doesn't even get to the place you're trying to debug.

And I don't have an image for today.

Tuesday: So many thoughts about a dumb TV show.

Flash is not awful, but the characters basically bumble around in a way that isn't as funny or cute as the Legends dummies.  The problem today was that terrorists stole a nuclear bomb, and blew it up.  Flash goes into super-speed-mode, and tries to figure out how to un-blow-up the bomb.  Luckily he has Jessie Quick, who's also fast, and he can pull people into super-speed-mode, but only for a few minutes.  My initial thought, given what I know about what they have:

  1. Ability to warp things between dimensions.
  2. Know of a nazi planet because of that crossover with Supergirl and everyone.
  3. Are super fast.
Team Flash?  Here's their list of plans.
  1. Go get another Flash from his universe.
  2. Warp it to a dead planet, but can't because they played with the warping too much.
  3. Double nuke it, which sounded to me a lot like "if we add more fire to the fire, they'll cancel out and there won't be any fire."
  4. Freeze it with their cold-based friend.
  5. Warp it into the speed force, which Flash #2 vetos because they're worried about blowing up a trans-dimensional abstract embodiment of speed.
  6. Zap it with lightning.
  7. Let it blow up and kill everybody.
Then Barry talks to his wife, who suggests bringing the speed force to earth to blow up the nuke.  This works because comic books, and reinforces the point that everyone is stupid, and Barry should start his list of plans with "maybe ask my wife."

Plus, all I could think about was the big season-long bad guy.  How hilarious would it be for him to zap back into the city from his secret extra dimension, and it's blown up and everyone is dead, and he can't complete his plan to mock Flash because Flash is blown up and dead.

Decade old dice.

Monday, March 5, 2018

Monday: My database died twice this evening, so that's how my day has been.

I don't think this squirrel is actually from this day.

Sunday, March 4, 2018

Saturday, March 3, 2018

Saturday: Whoops. Let's call that the test "do stuff" day.

Because I pretty much didn't do anything.  Except discover that there's a time (3:45 PM) that the Times parking lot becomes an absolute mess, because everyone decides to stop and wait for other people to put groceries in their car instead of just finding another parking space.  There's also a time like five-ten minutes later when there are literally infinite parking spaces.

I wanted a pork burrito, and I got a pork burrito.

Friday, March 2, 2018

Friday: I need to do stuff this weekend.

Because time is running out.
Alternate shot from two years ago, when we had this delicious appetizer.

Thursday, March 1, 2018

Thursday: Why does this run so slow now?

It looks like when I ran the script three years ago, it ran in under a day.  Now it's already on day three.  WTF?

I'm pretty sure they increased the spawn rate of rare creatures.
