Tuesday: It feels like this conference is killing me.

I'm super tired, and it feels like it's been going on forever, but it's actually only Tuesday.

• I caught like three minutes of this movie, and it was terrible.
• I would like more information about this.

Monday: Let's not drive to conferences the morning of anymore.

Because it involves getting up super early, and if you don't get to sleep early the night before, then you're super tired all day long, no matter how much caffeine you stick in your face.

I do have some ideas on how to convert bits of code to match the different api.  I also suspect that if I really want the compressed table support I want, that I might need to just write it myself.  I have mixed feelings about this.

At least the hotel comes with a cookie?

But I have to wait for the dumb dryer to finish.  And then get to sleep early so I can wake up crazy early for the trip to Baltimore.  At least I don't need to drive the whole way, so I can probably sleep some.  I think we probably should have tried to leave today instead.

I felt like pizza today, and I've had garlic breath ever since.

Saturday: I should turn on the AC

Because it's been getting warmer all day, and now it's kind of unpleasant.

Thursday: Party Programming

We had to fix a bunch of API changes today, so we did it all as a team.  Yay teamwork.

Wednesday: A burst of energy followed by angrily going home

Because the thing I had just spent a half hour fixing only fixed one instance instead of all of them.  This made me grumpy, and combined with the oncoming hangry, forced me to just leave for the day.

I like getting Poke gifts.

I also finally got new twitter today, and immediately found an extension to stop it.  If they had like three useful features I'd be fine, but not being able to randomly click to get back to the timeline is annoying.

• Ah.  So Picasso and Evelyn Waugh were both huge jackasses.

• I hope this plays nearby when it gets released in the US.

Tuesday: Tomorrow I need to break up the giant project I've been working on into more manageable bits.

Because having everything active all at once is impossible.

Monday: It's hard to get back to work when the A/C is broken.

It wasn't completely dead, but the office was still muggier and that made it harder to do thinking.

Why?

• Disband the entire thing, jail everyone involved.  This is the exact opposite of what they're supposed to be doing.
• Wedding photos.
• TBH, I'd eat just about any pizza.  I'm not that picky.

Sunday: The most lazy day.

It's super hot out, so staying inside and doing nothing seems like a good idea.

So that's what I did.

Saturday: I don't get many proper weekends this month.

Between returning from a conference last weekend, and going to a different conference next weekend, this is my best one.  So I was lazy and stayed in bed late, finished reading the book I got in Austin (and now I need to decide if I should buy the next one in the series for the next trip [ok, that was a short decision]),

Got breakfast at dinner time.

Then got groceries.  I also bought a "scrapbook" because I decided that with all the prints and art pieces I've been ordering online, it'd be good to have them easily accessible if I want to change the ones I have in frames.

Now to decide if I want to go see Spider-Man tomorrow, or just be lazy at home all day.

• Marvel stuff.
• Electoral college sucks.

Friday: Solving one problem unearths another. Ugh.

It doesn't seem like I should have 16 year old images.

• So annoying.

Thursday: I figured out a bunch of stuff, but I have to leave work early tomorrow.

Stupid pharmaceutical companies and their stupid stuff.

I'm reasonably sure the ones on the left are nadeshiko.

• We should not have billionaires.
• I have no idea.
• All jobs need unionization.
• What?  I'm super surprised by this.
• After a discussion today, I now kind of want to move my science stuff to a personally hosted wordpress blog, and then embed notebooks into it.
• I can't make most of these things.

Wednesday: I hope tomorrow is more productive.

I've solved the transform issue, and am slowly pushing everything to use the same construction scheme, but this week hasn't been great for doing things.

I like themed gyms.

Tuesday: Guess who forgot to set an alarm?

I should probably stop using the same alarms and just moving them around, and instead should set actual alarms that I turn on and off when I don't need them.

I beat up a gym so I can hopefully soon buy more storage space.

Monday: Back to work.

And already 2/3 things I'd like to check off fail tests, so I have to figure that out tomorrow.  Also cull my notes from SciPy into some useful list of interesting points.

I did learn that I can run CUDA code on my computer, although I'm not sure what this timing ration (CPU / GPU) tells me.  Do lots of the same things, so they can be parallelized, I guess.

Sunday: Back home.

The flight was fine, and I was able to get tacos at the airport beforehand.

Yummy tacos.

But my train was cancelled, and I didn't want to wait nearly an hour for the next one, so I had to take a car all the way back.  It's probably almost the same price.

Tomorrow is work again.  Ugh.  It's been so long since i had to do work.

Wednesday: Day one proper of the conference.

With the poster session.  Our poster arrived just fine, and went over just fine.  I'll have to think about integrating things into astropy at some point, probably.

Also, why are conferences in warm places during the summer?  Ugh.

Tuesday: conference tutorials

This time on tests, how to design easier to use unit tests with what's essentially a fuzzer, and how fuzzers are basically just Monte Carlo devices, and so can be used to solve problems if you're pathological.

I have learned.  In particular, that we are doing many things well at work.
