Thursday: I figured out a bunch of stuff, but I have to leave work early tomorrow.

Stupid pharmaceutical companies and their stupid stuff.

I'm reasonably sure the ones on the left are nadeshiko.

Wednesday: I hope tomorrow is more productive.

I've solved the transform issue, and am slowly pushing everything to use the same construction scheme, but this week hasn't been great for doing things.
I like themed gyms.

Tuesday: Guess who forgot to set an alarm?

I should probably stop using the same alarms and just moving them around, and instead should set actual alarms that I turn on and off when I don't need them.
This guy.

I beat up a gym so I can hopefully soon buy more storage space.

I like Cloyster.

Monday: Back to work.

And already 2/3 things I'd like to check off fail tests, so I have to figure that out tomorrow.  Also cull my notes from SciPy into some useful list of interesting points.
I did learn that I can run CUDA code on my computer, although I'm not sure what this timing ration (CPU / GPU) tells me.  Do lots of the same things, so they can be parallelized, I guess.

Sunday: Back home.

The flight was fine, and I was able to get tacos at the airport beforehand.
Yummy tacos.
But my train was cancelled, and I didn't want to wait nearly an hour for the next one, so I had to take a car all the way back.  It's probably almost the same price.

Tomorrow is work again.  Ugh.  It's been so long since i had to do work.

Saturday: last day

And then back home tomorrow.  Also tertia victory.

Wednesday: Day one proper of the conference.

With the poster session.  Our poster arrived just fine, and went over just fine.  I'll have to think about integrating things into astropy at some point, probably.

Also, why are conferences in warm places during the summer?  Ugh.

A pokemon, some flowers, and a bunch of slide images that probably are impossible to read.

Tuesday: conference tutorials

This time on tests, how to design easier to use unit tests with what's essentially a fuzzer, and how fuzzers are basically just Monte Carlo devices, and so can be used to solve problems if you're pathological.

Monday: Conference tutorials.

I have learned.  In particular, that we are doing many things well at work.

Sunday, July 7, 2019

Sunday: whoops, I have to go to the conference tomorrow

No problem.
Also look into new sheets when I get home.

Friday: travel day

Tired.  To much Tetris.

Thursday: Fourth of July

Which meant packing.  And concern that I'm forgetting something, even though I have almost an entire everything in Texas.

Also D&D.
I think this is the first group ever that has gone so heavy on clerical skills.

Wednesday: I finished Part A, and I figured out why Part B is broken.

It's not too bad to fix, so I just need to have time to do it.  And then sort out why things were done they way they were, so if I change them, it's not a big deal.  And then document everything.  At least my way of "everything goes through the same functions, so the old functions become wrappers to the new ones" makes sense to me.

I discovered today that you can fight the Librarian.
Except he doesn't stay dead, because obviously.  No clue what's up with the funny mask.
But this means I've double beat the game.  So I started a New Game+, so I can explicitly do so.  The biggest problem with that is that I don't start with double jump and super speed, so I feel sluggish and broken now.

  • Yes.  I hope it gets added to the long list of crimes he should go to jail for.
  • Yes, obviously.
  • Why am I not surprised to see that the bad legislation that got shut down was sponsored by Sweeney, the guy who's been donking up all the good legislation?
  • Harvest Moon is coming to switch.

Tuesday: I finished the API changes I wanted, but they still don't work.

So tomorrow is testing.

I also got the multiprocessing stuff to work for the snek rewrite of C code.  Twelve threads only gives a factor of two speed up, but that still left most of the CPU idle.  Maybe for the future I'll parallelize other bits, but now I should make the multi-fit work.

Or, you know.
I should probably stop playing it.  Or at least switch to a New Game+.  Maybe when I get back.

Monday: Super sleepy.

I've actually napped a large chunk of this evening, and I'm still tired.
Whoops.  Broke tetris.
